Growing Up

Date Night

I was woken up by the sound of footsteps walking down the stairs. I must have fallen asleep on the couch with Luke. I watched as Ashton came around the corner, and his face filled with confusion.

"Why is Luke here?" he whispered.

"Arzaylea cheated," I explained.

"The fuck?"

"I know."

I tried to get up but I realized that Luke was literally attached to me. Ashton giggled at the sight of me struggling.

"Fuck off, Irwin," I swore.

He walked over and helped me finally get out of Luke's grasp. Damn that man was strong.

"How long do you think Luke will stay here?" Ashton asked, running a hand through his hair.

"I'm not sure, but he can stay as long as he needs."

I heard a soft groan come from the couch. I looked over and saw Luke stretching his arms out.

"Hey, Luke," Ashton greeted.

Luke shot him a weak smile and got up.

"Uhm, I'm gonna go home and get some clothes," he said, scratching the back of his neck.

"That's fine," I said.
-Time jump-
Luke has been staying with us for a little over a month now. It's been fun having our best friend live with us, but we never really get alone time anymore. And not that kind of alone time ya nasty.

"Hey Luke?" Ashton said, getting the attention the man sat next to him.

"What's up?"

"I think tonight Zara and I are going to have a date night if that's okay."

"Of course it's okay, why wouldn't it be?" Luke asked.

"Well we know it's hard for you to be alone right now," I chimed in.

"Go, guys. I'll be fine," Luke assured us.

I went upstairs and started getting ready. After I was finished, I met Ashton in the living room.

"You look breathtaking," he grinned.

"Thank you," I smiled as I gave him a quick peck.

I turned to Luke.

"You're sure you'll be okay?"

"Yeah, Yeah, I'll be fine. Now you, young man. You have my Zara back here by 10:30 you understand? And no funny business," Luke instructed.

"Yes sir," Ashton laughed.

We headed to the fancy restaurant that Ashton had picked out and were there fairly quickly. We got seated and ordered our drinks.

"Babe," Ashton said, grabbing my attention.

I looked up at my hazel-eyed boyfriend and smiled. He was biting his lip nervously, and i could feel his leg bouncing under the table.

"You okay, Ash?"

"Yeah I'm fine. Actually I have a question I want to ask you," he said as he reached his hand to his pocket.

Beep beep!

"Shit it's Luke," I murmured, grabbing my phone.

"Dammit. Babe we gotta go. Arzaylea showed up at the house," I groaned, grabbing my purse.

"O-oh. Okay," he said with a frown.

He got up and paid for our drinks before taking my hand and leading me out to the car.

"Ashton what were you gonna ask back there?"

He sighed before answering.

"Nothing."
