Kabanata 9: Paperworks

My sleepy head woke up in the middle of the night. Kinapa-kapa ko ang side sa kung saan katabi ko si Hestia matulog, at wala siya roon. I tried to get up kahit na hinang-hina pa ako dahil sa antok, I rubbed my sleepy eyes next. I tried to move kahit nahihirapan ako, just to check for her in every corner of the bedroom.

She was wearing her sexy and seductive indigo lingerie night dress.

"Mahal?" I called in a hoarsely manner. Wala akong narinig na sagot mula sa kanya maybe it's because my voice is too low for her to hear. Slowly gaining my senses, naisipan ko pumunta downstairs to check for her there.

Hindi pa man ako nakakababa, nakita ko na agad ang liwanag mula sa desk lamp. I'm only a few steps downstairs when I saw her slept there.

Rubbing my sleepy eyes again, I stepped near to her. Hinaplos-haplos ang kanyang buhok, "Hindi mo na sana pinilit pa na tapusin ang lahat ng 'yan..." I whispered. Few seconds after, nagising na rin siya.

"Matulog ka pa, sige na." Pamimilit ko.

"Pero hindi pa 'ko tapos rito." Sagot naman nito.

"Shhh... finish these tomorrow. Ang importante, makatulog ka ng maayos... hindi dito, do'n sa kwarto." Pag-aalala ko.

"But mahal? I really need to finish these..." Pakiusap nito. Later, na-convince niya rin ako but instead of her doing the works,

"Fine, pero ako na gagawa. I want you to have some rest, you'll need it for tomorrow." In the meantime, nawala ako sa sarili at biglang naging mapusok. Giving her the mild pleasure she never asked for.

"Are you su—" I stole a kiss at her lips.

"Of course." Finally pulling her gently towards me. Resting both of her arms to my shoulders. "Good night, mahal. I love you."

I escorted her throughout the bed. She's really tired and a bit heavy but still managed to lay her there comfortably.

"I love you too. Please take a rest. Sweet dreams, mahal." I replied. Tonight, as I saw her there. I was stunned by how hot she was.

As I promised to her earlier, ako na ang nag-asikaso sa lahat ng naging dahilan kung bakit siya naging busy. I thought about procrastinating instead of doing all of those but I realized that I should really help her with these works left to her. So I started reviewing and revising the papers which I think it doesn't seem to look formal, neat and detail-wise. Reviewing these is very time-consuming since hindi ko dapat palampasin ang ni-katiting na mga mali para ma-itama.

I finished half of them already, nagtimpla na muna ako ng kape dahil inaantok na rin ako. "Okay time check? One-thirty na ng madaling-araw."

I saw a piece of a note na hindi napansin ni Hestia na nasa sahig. It says. "If ever I fell asleep, wake me up." So I did kaya ko siya dinala sa kwarto.

I continued to do her remaining unfinished works, dahil kokonti nalang din naman ito. These are the unapproved and incomplete proposals na kailangan ko pa ring punan or itama, for the same result I'm aiming on. To have it eye-catchy yet organized.

My phone rang, someone texted, "Mr. Jimenez, this is Mema Cosford of the Cosford Group of Companies, my dad, Alexander Cosford, the CEO of the company. Wants to talk with you through video chat. Available ka ba?"

I replied: "Ang late na, also I just finished doing tasks left on me. I need to rest now, tell your dad we'll just talk tomorrow. Let him understand."

Finally, natapos din ako. To leave things up neat and clean, I piled them over the desk so that mahal will see it directly.

Sunod akong kumuha ng pagkain sa ref, only three steps away from the couch ay tinalunan ko na. Buti nalang at konti lang ang natapon. "I forgot to ask her thoughts about the recently finished studio dito sa Corrales, will she like it ba?" As I asked myself.
