Kabanata 18: Push
"Good morning po! Kayo po ba si Hestia Sta. Cruz?" Di-siguradong tanong ng rider sa akin.
"Do I look like a girl to you?" Balik ko namang tanong.
"Ay, sorry Sir. Dito ho ba nakatira si Ms. Hestia Sta. Cruz? May nagpadala ho kasi para sa kanya daw po."
"Ano ba 'yung item?" Usisa ko.
"Hala, sir. Hindi po namin alam at nasa protocol ho naming 'wag pakikialaman 'yung item kasi baka masira pa po 'yung ite—"
"Shhh... okay, okay." Paghablot ko sa kahon and opened it barehandedly.
"Pero, Sir—"
"A perfume at tsaka suklay? Why would she even need new ones of these? Tsaka meron naman nito sa tabi-tabi ah? By the way, are these cash-on-delivery?" Nagtaka ako saglit.
"Yes, sir."
"Okay, here." Inabot ko ang credit card ko.
"Mahal, who are you talking to?" Sigaw ni Hestia mula sa kwarto namin. Sa boses nito, mukhang may nakapagpagising sa kanya at inaantok pa.
"Nothing. Something just came in, matulog ka lang d'yan. I love you... and good morning!"
She never responded as she fell asleep again. I don't know if she forgot about the order she made online so I'm planning to make it as a gift for her. To make it a little bit more romantic, I wrote a message to it,
"We've been consistent and lived to a healthy relationship together, so I bought this gift for you, (Pero sa totoo lang in-order mo talaga 'to at binayaran ko lang. Hahaha)."
Pagpasok ko muli sa bahay ay tumungo ako sa kusina upang magsaing at ipagluto ng ulam si Hestia, keeping the said gift out of her sight.
While I was breaking eggs and frying it straight to the pan, gumising na si Hestia at hinalikan ako, "What are you cooking, mahal?" She asked with a sleepy voice, probably the most sexiest morning voice I've ever heard.
"Pritong itlog lang." I answered.
"And I'm going to make you some coffee." She replied,
"Do it after mo maghilamos." I reprimanded. I waited for almost an hour and decided to eat breakfast first and made my coffee.
"I'm done." She said.
"You took so long, and I thought maghihilamos ka lang?" I replied and asked.
"I was about to, but maliligo naman din ako mamaya kaya I decided to do it now." She answered.
"May regalo ako sa'yo na nasa mesa. It's still wrapped with tapes so you can ask for my help 'pag nahirapan kang buksan."
"Teka, wait. Regalo? Why would you give me one? Next next month pa magpapasko. Also, next month birthday na ng babaeng kinababaliwan mo."
"Hindi rin nga pala tayo nagce-celebrate ng monthsary no?" I asked.
"Of course, kasi gagastos ka lang. Tsaka kahit isa ka sa mga hinahangaang business personalities ngayon, ayoko pa ring gagastos ka."
"It's okay. Kahit hindi na natin i-celebrate 'yun, with us in one bed lagi naman magiging new year. Well, if you'd just get it. Hehe." I smirked.
"Tss, d'yan ka talaga magaling!" Sabay kurot sa akin, I endured the pain.
"By the way, kanina pa likot nang likot yang kamay mo ah. What's in it?" I asked, noticing the sudden movements of her hand.
"Ah wala lang 'to, gamot ko lang." She replied.
"Teka lang, ano 'yun? Take a look at it."
