AS I downed a glass of tequila, I could feel the heat spreading inside my body, making my face scrunch up from the strong taste. I was about to take another shot when someone grabbed my hand, preventing me from doing so. I looked at the person, and it was Avery.
Meanwhile, Ashley was sipping her wine beside me.
"You're drunk, Francine. Umuwi na kaya tayo," aya niya.
I smirked. "I'm just getting started," I replied with a glint in my eyes and got up from my seat.
The club's upbeat music grew louder, gradually pulling me into its rhythm, causing me to twirl and dance with the crowd. The colorful lights added to the atmosphere, fueling my desire to move my body to the beat. It was as if I was no longer in full control, simply surrendering myself to the music like everyone else around me.
Suddenly, I felt someone's hands on my hips, swaying in sync with my movements.
"Want to go somewhere, beautiful?"
His baritone voice captivated me instantly. Lost in the moment, I let my body decide on my actions.
Without hesitation, my body turned around to face the man. He was taller than me, with a handsome beard covering his chin. I smiled at him and nodded in agreement.
"After you," I replied, almost surprised at my own response.
"Why are you—" Pinutol niya ako.
"Wait, a-anong uuwi—" And for the second time, he cut me off.
"Uuwi na tayo, Francine," he seriously asserted while madly glaring at me. What the hell did I do to you?
"Alright, bro. She's all yours. Chill out," anang lalaki tsaka umalis.
"Ikaw kamo..."
I slowly opened my eyes and was met with his furious frown directed at me. I didn't know what I was doing. I simply allowed myself to follow my emotions, so I gradually moved closer to him.
Soon, we were merely three inches away from each other. Temptation led me to smile, and my hands found their way to rest on his shoulders.
Though he seemed confused, he didn't remove my hands from his shoulders.
"Ano ba—" This time, I cut him off.
"Anong ginagawa mo rito?" I asked. And that question made him stop a bit and just look straight at my eyes. I slowly leaned my lips to his ear, and whispered, "Are you lost, baby boy?"
I shook my head. "Wow... I didn't expect that a guy like you would watch a movie like that," pagbibiro ko. Nagsalubong ang kanyang dalawang kilay.
"H-Ha? Hindi ko pa pinapanood—"
