Starlit Amusement Park

This one is kinda weird and random, but I like the ending a lot.

"Mikey!" Gerard said with annoyance "Please? It's just one ride, how bad could it be?" They were at the amusement park and in line to ride the ferris wheel, the attraction that had the biggest line there. They had waited for hours and Mikey conveniently needed to pee when they were nearing the front of the line. But Gerard wasn't having his brothers attitude today, they had waited in line for hours.

Mikey crossed his arms "You're not going to make me do something I don't want to, Gerard. Just go on with someone else, it won't be that bad if I don't go on one ride with you." The person in front of them had been listening to their whole conversation, and they also didn't want to go on alone. But with another person he didn't know it would be even worse and even more awkward.

Gerard sighed "Fine. I'll go on alone. But it won't be as much fun." And as his brother walked away to go to the arcade, he turned to the person in front of him who he would be riding with "Do you mind if we share a cart?"

"No, of course not. I'm Frank, by the way." He replied, and shook Gerards hand. Frank looked over towards the direction Mikey went "Was that your boyfriend or something?"

"What? No, he's my brother." Gerard said, and rolled his eyes. Like he would ever date his annoying little brother. Frank mumbled an apology and looked away, embarrassed. When it was their turn to step onto the ride, he made his way into the small and cramped space. Frank had no problem getting inside, but Gerard had a bit more trouble.

Frank suddenly grabbed his hand and yanked him in the small cart, and Gerard thanked him. It wasn't until after they started going up that he realised he had been holding onto his hand the whole time. But, for some reason, he didn't want to let go because of how safe it made him feel. He decided to look out the window where he could see the whole skyline, the lights from the city looking just as bright as the stars right above it.

"It's beautiful." He heard Frank say from next to him, and he nodded in agreement. The view itself was always special to Gerard, but what made it more significant to him was that whatever he was seeing was shared with the person right next to him. Suddenly, at the very top of the Ferris Wheel, their cart stopped and a voice came over the little loud speaker, telling them that there was a minor malfunction with the rides mechanics and that it would be fixed immediately "W-Wait, so we're gonna be stuck in here for hours?"

Gerard could hear Frank hyperventilating, which was never a good sign "I'm sure it'll be alright. This kind of stuff happens all the time, right?" And he watched Frank nod frantically "Right. Everything is fine, Frank. Just..." He tried to think of something to take his mind off of their impending doom "...tell me a bit about yourself."

"Well... I'm a make-up artist- for, y'know, movies and tv shows and stuff- but I've always wanted to be a musician. I grew up here, in Jersey, and it's always felt special to me and like home so I just... Never left, I guess." As he continued to tell him about himself, Gerard noticed how his breathing had finally stabilized. After that, he didn't really know what to do or say, until he looked down at his arms.

"You have a lot of tattoos." Gerard observed, and began tracing the patterns of the ink on his arms. He never got tattoos, since he was afraid of needles, but he loved art in general, especially peoples tattoos.

"Yeah, I just kind of like getting tattoos." He responded, feeling kind of awkward and, for some reason, really nervous around Gerard. As he looked closer at him, he noticed how beautiful he was, and realised that that explained why he was so nervous. He coughed awkwardly and tried to change the subject "So... How about you? What do you do for a living?"

"I'm a comic artist, I make my own comics and stuff. Wanted to since I was a kid. I also grew up in Jersey, so I can get where you're coming from about the whole 'feeling like it's home' thing." Gerard said all this while staring at his arms, still tracing the patterns, and realised how muscular they were. When he looked back up at him, it felt like he was lost in another world as he stared deeply into Franks eyes. Then, he saw them move to his lips briefly, and realised Frank was clearly thinking the same thing Gerard was thinking.

As they leaned in, Frank stopped "Wait, are we really doing this? We just fucking met and we're already-"

"Shut up." Gerard said, and connected the short distance between them. He hadn't had much romance recently, neither of them had, but he didn't expect it to be so good. Franks hand reached up and grabbed his hair roughly, never wanting to let go. Neither of them wanted to stop, but as the ride started moving again, they both jerked forward and fell on the floor.

They both just stayed like that, on the floor in eachothers arms with their foreheads pressed together, and smiled as the announcement came on that the ferris wheel was back to full operation.
