The Match is Made

Frank was excited. He was excited that he could finally meet someone thanks to this dating app one of his friends told him about. It matched your google search history with someone elses on the app and then would create a chat room for the two of you to talk. They had planned to meet eachother that night at a sushi place that his date said was 'halfway to both of us as well as hidden from anyone passing by'.

When he had said that, Franks author side of his brain had made up a story where he had some crazy stalker-ex that would ruin their date if they saw them. But this wasn't another one of Franks stories, it was a nice date that he was going to have with a great guy that he met online.

And right before he left, he even got a message from him:

GeeWay- can't wait to see you, cutie <3

Frnk- im on my way out right now :)

GeeWay- remember, im paying for the food

Frnk- noooo im gonna feel guilty!

GeeWay- already brought my wallet ;)

He sighed and turned his phone off as he got in his car to drive. When he finally got to the place it was exactly how his date said it was, a secluded area that was halfway between both of them. Frank stepped inside to see no one else there, except for a man with long black hair sitting in a booth near the corner.

Smiling, Frank walked up to his booth. As he got closer, he realised how good looking his date was "Gerard?" The man looked up at him and smiled back. He was cute when he smiled "Hey! It's great to finally meet you! How are you doing?"

"I'm doing good." Gerard said, and Frank already loved the sound of his voice. He was kind of a lovestruck idiot, if you asked any of his friends, but he usually ignored his friends love advice. As he sat down Frank looked around the place, once again not really seeing many people "So, what do you want to talk about?"

"I'm not sure." Frank said, turning back to him. He studied the patterns in the table, trying to think of what to say "What do you do for a living?" He saw Gerard tense up a bit, but his gaze remained on Frank.

"What do you do for a living?" He retorted, obviously nervous. Maybe that was a touchy subject for him?

Frank smiled, trying to look reassuring "Well, I'm a writer. I mostly write horror or crime stories, but right now I'm writing a story about vampires. My publisher thinks I should appeal to younger audiences, but I like how I'm writing now." Gerard payed attention to every word he was saying, he could tell "Do you mind if I ask what you do or?..."

Gerard tensed up again "Okay, well.... You have to promise not to freak out." Frank promised "Alright,um.... I'm an assassin."

Franks eyes went wide, but he didn't say anything. He had promised he wouldn't freak out so he didn't, at least on the outside. On the inside he was screaming at himself to get out of there, to run and hide and never see this guy again because he fucking kills people. But for whatever reason, he just couldn't. Gerard was so nice and cute and he couldn't just abandon him, right?

Gerard shifted in his seat anxiously "Well? Say something!"

"What am I supposed to say? I mean, you're a nice guy, but you kill people and I don't know...." Frank put his head in his hands, trying to think how that dating app even matched them together. Then he realised that since he often wrote about people being killed, maybe he could ask Gerard about how to kill people? No, no any logical person would walk out. But.... "How long does it take for a stab victim to die?"

He looked startled by the question "W-Why would you?...." Frank looked up at him and saw him piece everything together in his mind "Oh! Well, it differs from each victim depending on where you stab them. But, if I had to guess, maybe 3-30 minutes? Are you going to put that in your vampire story?"

Frank nodded "Yeah, I have this death planned for one of the vampire characters where they get staked in the chest, but in their last moments turn the main character into a vampire as well. So, thanks for that."

"You're welcome."

He didn't know where he was going with this, but Frank figured that if Gerard ended up not being as nice as he seemed on top of being a murderer, then he wouldn't go on a second date with him. But so far he was a nice guy, and he was secretly hoping that Gerard would keep it up.

Gerard was nice. He was great, in fact. He didn't judge Frank on his decision to not go to college, or his decision to become a writer. The place he had picked had the best sushi Frank had ever had, and Gerard told him some of his favorite rolls that he often got there. It was definitely one of the better dates Frank had been on, and he had decided that they would definitely have another one.

When he got back to his apartment, Frank immediately went for his bed and didn't even bother taking a shower. It had been a long day and he needed some rest, but not before he saw the message Gerard had sent him.

GeeWay- goodnight Frankie! I had fun on our date <3

Frank smiled, thinking of the perfect thing to say

Frnk- goodnight Gee, hope we can do it again sometime <3

Wow, I really did not know how to write this. But I think it turned out okay? Thanks for reading!
