i woke up to the slight shaking of my body.
i groaned as i shifted and forced my eyes open.
jungkook's gentle smile was the first thing i saw. i almost jumped at the surprise.
"hi." i breathed out.
"good morning. how is your leg?" he asked, sincerity in his voice.
"not very good." it felt numb all over, slight pumps of pain occurring every here and then.
"i'm sorry." jungkook's shamed voice returned. he sounded like nothing can convince him that what happened to me wasn't his fault.i sat up and turned my body around. i was about to try and stupidly stand up, but the slightest contact of my injured foot and the floor sent a storm of pain up my entire leg.
i hissed, resisting they urge to just roll back to bed because i can't seem to do anything by myself.
"come on." in a split second, jungkook scooped me up, and began walking out of the room without another word.
"i feel like you've carried me more recently than i have been my entire life." i chuckled. jungkook laughed in response.it was morning, really early in the morning. me and jungkook arrived in the kitchen not too long afterwards. the aroma of something both sweet and salty filled the entire kitchen.
jungkook set me down on a chair next to the island table. he grabbed a plate and went near the stove, and the next thing i know, a plate piled with a regular stack of pancakes and bacon on another plate was placed in front of me.
"i didn't know you could cook." i remarked, grabbing a fork and knife.
jungkook took a seat beside me, his own plate in front of me.
"i'm a man of many talents." he cockily replied.we both began to eat in silence to ease the hunger we were feeling.
after a couple minutes, both our plates were emptied.
jungkook got up and placed the plates in the sink. i thanked him. i thanked him once again once he prepared two cups of coffee for the both of us, probably because of how dead i look.
"how is your leg?" jungkook asked again.
"you already asked that." i laughed.
jungkook shook his head slightly, taking a small sip of coffee.he turned his body towards me, leaning his arm on the table beside him. jungkook tilted his head slightly, his eyes looking directly into mine.
"what?" i asked, setting down my cup of coffee.
"i don't know." his lips slightly parted after he spoke.
"don't know what-"
"you're really pretty, y/n."
i felt a swarm of butterflies flood my stomach.
i don't know what to say.
"th-thank you." i managed.
i want to get out of here. i can't imagine how red my face looks.jungkook got up from his chair. i expected him to wish his goodbyes and head up to his room, but instead, he began walking closer to me, the proximity shrinking more with each step he took.
he stopped, his face only a few inches away from mine. his eyes held a thousand different emotions.
and i'm sure mine did too.
my heart was beating so loud i could practically hear it in my ears.
suddenly, his quiet and slightly shaking voice spoke words i never in a thousand years imagined he would speak."can i kiss you?"
a wave of shock rushed over my entire body.
i mean, honestly,
is this even a question?
my head instinctively leaned forward in response. our lips collided after only a few seconds. i suppressed the urge to buckle over my knees due to the extreme feeling of euphoria that engulfed me.
the kiss was gentle at first, but with each second it grew deeper, almost as if jungkook and i were craving such a moment for a long time.
jungkook's hands found their place around my waist, while my own cupped his neck.i don't how long we stayed like this for, but i pulled away, both of us breathless.
there are so many warnings signs. signs that what just happened was not the right thing to do.
but the tingling feeling on my lips, my hammering heart and the urge to kiss jungkook again we're the reasons why i didn't regret anything.
jungkook opened his mouth to speak, his eyes admiring my own."you have no idea how long i've wanted to do that for."
