"What is this...?" The little carrot-top asked, gripping onto the gate."It's the gate, Emma. I thought you knew that?" The little blueberry replied in her soft innocent voice.
Emma quickly snapped her head to the blueberry. "O-Of course I know that, Amelia!!" She whined.
Amelia just nodded. She turned back to the gate with a blank expression.
"This gate... Leads to the outside world.." The albino boy said.
"Outside? I never been to outside before!!" Emma chirped.
"Of course we haven't... Well, you guys I guess. I only started living here when I was 3 years old." Amelia said.
"Then do you remember anything before you came here?" Norman asked. Amelia stayed quiet.
"I'll take that as a no then..." Norman awkwardly chuckled.
Emma's smile quickly turned into a frown. She turned back, facing the gate again.
"Mama always said... 'Don't go near the fence, nor the gate because it is dangerous'..." Emma trailed off.
"I honestly wouldn't believe that./That's obviously a lie." The blackberry and the blueberry said at the same time.
Emma looked at Ray and Amelia in confusion. "How would you guys know that?" Emma asked.
Amelia turned to Emma with a blank face then turned back to the gate in front of her. "Maybe because I have more knowledge than you?" She said bluntly.
"HEY! THAT DOESN'T MAKE SENSE! WE'RE THE SAME AGE!" Emma exclaimed furiously.
Amelia quirked a brow. "does that... relate to... anything..?" She asked, bluntly, not knowing that she stabbed Emma with an invisible arrow.
Emma quickly shook it off by asking a question. "S-So! Uh... RAY! What do you wanna do when you go outside?" She asked.
"I don't really know. What about you?" Ray shrugged as he placed his hands in his pocket.
"I wanna ride a giraffe!!" Emma replied as she flung her arms wide open.
"Are you sure? I heard that you can't really ride giraffes, especially sitting due to their anatomy. You might even fall down before you get on," Amelia said, quite worried about her little foster sister.
"Well then, I wish you good luck." Ray added.
"What about you, Amy? What do you wanna do when you're outside?!" Emma asked, changing the subject.
"Me you ask? Hm..." Amelia looked at her grey shiny shoes.
"Maybe... Maybe, watch the Sunset with him. He did said it was the most beautiful thing that you can see in the world..." She muttered.
"You mean Brother Caleb?" Norman asked and she nodded.
"Of course. You two have been inseparable ever since you two met," He added and she nodded again.
"I wonder..." Norman said, looking into the abyss. "What is this gate protecting us from?"
"I don't really think much about it. It could be the danger of the outside world, wild safari animals, witches, zombies, supervillains, norm villains, monsters, preverts, creatures, even an entity." Amelia guessed, randomly mostly.
Ray shook his head in disappointment.
"You read too much books, Amelia..." He said.
The said girl then grew a bit confused. "Is.. There a problem with reading books? It increases your knowledge doesn't it?" She asked.
The trio all sighed. 'She's too blunt sometimes...' They all thought in unison.
"Amelia!" A male with quite a gruff voice called out.
The three turned to see their older sibling, 38193 aka Caleb. They all made eye contact.
"What are you guys doing there?! Come back here!" Caleb said, a little furious and worried.
"Well then, let's just head back. Mama would get worried and suspicious." Amelia said in defeat.
They all agreed and ran towards Caleb whom was waiting for them.
What they didn't know is there were four pair of eyes looking at the children.
