A Profile of Catrieth

Hey, guys! So I decided that from now on, with each different planet, it would be smart to do a profile so that when the chapter starts you already have some background information on it and what kind of political state they're in and a profile of what the citizens look like and as well as a profile of any OCs that will be used. So this is a short look at what the next planet will be like.

Ok.... Real Talk time.

I know that some of you might have noticed my recent username change. Recently, JK Rowling has said some very insensitive and downright mean/hurtful things to those of us who are non-binary or transgender. So, I have changed my username so it is no longer associated with Harry Potter. I love the books and the movie, and my heart hurts because she is actively ruining her legacy. Harry Potter has been a huge part of my life, and it truly helped me grow. I will never stop loving the books or the movies but I no longer support JK Rowling. I deleted my Harry Potter fanfiction, which never got very far anyway, and I have changed my username to PrincessRenegade to support the Princesses of Power (more specifically, Noelle Stevenson), and the Renegades, since Marrisa Meyer has not done or said anything insensitive about our non-binary and trans friends.

I am a social worker in training and I am interning at a place that provides affordable health care for members of the LGBTQ+ community, specifically trans people. So, no, I don't support JK Rowling and I have a certain anger towards her that I only feel toward few people. She crossed a line and that cannot be forgiven. She hurt MY people, the LGBTQ+ community being my people. And I cannot tolerate that.

To any transgender and non-binary readers, I love you guys and I support you. Don't listen to anybody who tries to hurt you. Gender isn't determined by your birth, it's determined by who you are and who you identify with. Gender is fluid. Some (me and most of my social worker friends) might even say it's not real and just a social construct of society. Trans women are women. Trans men are men. And PrincessRenegade loves all of you!

So now, without further ado....

Planet Name: Petsa

Petsa is home to two countries: Dogash (pronounced Dog-Ash) and Catrieth (Cat-Tree-Ith)

Dogash has no problems, it is almost a Utopia, therefore, She-Ra and friends will be focusing their time and energy on Catrieth. The magic and balance that She-Ra restores will not affect Dogash very much, because things are already pretty good there.

Catrieth, however, is on the verge of a civil war.

Many cities within Catrieth is home to several different breeds of cat, but most places are occupied by a majority. For example, the city from where my OCs come from is mostly made up of Persians, Calicos, and Tabbies. However there are some Sphinxes, some bengals, some Siamese, but the majority of the population are Persians, Calicos, and Tabbies. Most cities are like this, just with different breeds. One city's population may be made up of bengal and mainecoon citizens, but within each city, the breeds do not get along. One majority breed always thinks it's better than the other majority breed. It has been like this for several years. Because of all the fighting between two breeds, and different breeds picking sides with other breeds, the country is on its way to a Civil War.

While Catrieth has its problems, one of the problems is not LGBTQ+ disrespect. Being gay, lesbian, straight, bi, trans, etc is not seen as anything out of the ordinary. Being gender fluid, non-binary, etc is also normal on Catrieth.

Catrieth has two capitals.

The Northern Capital and the Southern Capital.

The Southern Capital is the oldest city in Catrieth and was settled first. It is not like Earth, where the Europeans seized land that belonged to the native Americans. Catrieth was empty and was settled by the cat-people. Some cats then began traveling north, and then a few decades later, the Northern Capital was established.

The people of Catrieth look like Catra, and it is theorized (by me, not canon) that Catra's family came from Catrieth and moved to Etheria before Catra was born.

The cat people are different breeds of cats, but they are bipedal. They are covered in fur and have markings of whichever breed they are.

This brings us to our two OCs.

Talia Callie Mittens: Talia's pronouns are she/her and she is heterosexual. Talia is a free spirit. She is young, I'm using human years and human understanding, and I want to say she's 25, the youngest cat ever to run for mayor. Due to her free spirit, she's bubbly, and though intelligent, she can sometimes get caught up in her optimism and idealism. She believes in the message of peace among breeds and is a humanitarian, er, catitarian. The point is, she believes in equal rights and peace. She wonders why cats just can't get along. Her mother is a calico and her father is a tabby cat, which makes her a part of a rare family dynamic where her brother is a tabby and she is a calico. She believes that if her and her brother can live together peacefully, then all other cat breeds should be able to do the same. Because of her beliefs and her desire for peace, she is running for mayor in her city and hopes that she can settle the disputes in her city, and then hopefully be able to help other cities with their disputes. She is very intelligent but not very observant. Unfortunately, being the oldest in her family, she can be a bit bossy to her younger brother and she is very stubborn.

Pants Boots Mittens: Pants's pronouns are he/him and he is bisexual. Pants is the younger brother of Talia. Pants and his sister's beliefs are similar, and like Talia, he desires peace in his country. He is a gray tabby, taking more after their father. However he has never had any problems with calicos. He is the campaign manager for Talia and because of her free spiritedness sometimes has to bring her back to reality when her head gets stuck in the clouds. Pants is also very intelligent, but he is willing to compromise, unlike Talia. He is often very submissive when it comes to his sister, because he is the youngest but also because he knows how she is and does not want to argue with her over anything, thus making him good at compromising. He also has remarkable attention to detail. He is very serious, but still knows how to enjoy life. He does not waste time with things like daydreaming and prefers to plan, instead, and make his dreams achievable.

Talia and Pants have a very good relationship, and the sibling rivalry was never a problem with the two. Both believe in the betterment of Catrieth and are doing all they can to bring peace to their world. Both of them are very close, and though Talia doesn't realize it, her brother looks up to her and knows he can count on her to keep him safe.

But they can't do this alone. Not without the Best Friend Squad.
