"How much longer" Patton asked for the 12 time today. "We'll  be there soon". Thomas, who had moved to the seat next to me,explained

" normally we would get dropped off farther away but with my leg would be to dangerous to be walking that far especially this close to night fall."

I looked at the clock on my phone. it was almost 7:00 we have been on the road for almost 9 hours.

After a few moments of silence I was the first to speak up " so where is this camp exactly." " well as you enter the camp you-" as Thomas explained he was shushed by Joan who pointed to the driver than to his own ear."
I look up and see the driver staring at us the rearview mirror.

He cleared his voice "sorry guys on long drives like this it's hard not ease drop on my passengers. but now i'm curious what is this camp you kids keep talking about."

Joan and Thomas look at each other with sheer panic "oh it's a band camp" said Patton thinking fast on his feet." "really?" said the driver clearly not believing a word Pat said.

" If you kids are going to a band camp. than where are your Instruments?" the diver said with a familiar smirk. why did this driver seem so familiar to me?Thomas and Joan were not hiding their panic very well so I interjected

" They are already at the camp waiting for us. sometimes it's hard for campers to bring their instruments so they mail them 2 weeks before camp starts." The diver just stared at me. I squirmed in my seat until he put his eyes back on the road. while he mumbled something under his breath.

we all stayed silent for a few more miles. Until Joan nudged Thomas and pointed out the window.  In the distance you could see a hill with a single tree. They both nodded like they could read each other's mind. I look back and forth between them hoping one of them would tell me what was happening. but they didn't do that.

Joan just started talking to the driver. "Umm... Sir you can actually drop  us of right here." the driver,Patton, and I all look at Joan like he has lost his mind.

" are you sure. this is pretty far from the address you gave me." said the driver. while the bus started slowing down but not to a complete stop.

" yea it's a short cut, come on guys let's go." And with that Joan was up  backpack on, walking stick in hand and Patton close behind.

At this point all four of us are standing by the door. and the bus had slowed to a stop but the doors remained shut.

suddenly the mans face turned cold. He stood up from his chair cornering the four of us by the door.  " sorry I cant do that"

he lunged forward trying to grab Thomas in the heat of the moment I jumped in front of him. The driver grabbed onto my wrist and started to pull.

The driver started to dig his nails into my skin as I tried my best free myself but  his grip was really strong. out of the corner of my eye I could see Patton and Joan trying to break the door down.

" let him go" Thomas yelled still holding on to my right arm while the driver still had a firm grip on my left. The drivers eyes closed for a moment and when he reopened them they weren't exactly...human.

they reminded me almost of a snake or cat eyes. they were  yellow with a black line down the middle. It was terrifying to say the least.

Suddenly there was crash from behind me the bus door was flying through the air. Some how Joan kicked the door off its hinges. How did he do that? that door was huge and really heavy. But no time to think about that now the driver tries pulling me closer to him before I could get an inch closer Thomas takes Joans wooden stick and hits the driver with it causing him to let go of my arm.

The four of us run out of the bus and start making our way towards the woods.

I take a chance and look over my shoulder trying to see if the driver was following us. But he was nowhere to be seen instead I saw a creature with pale skin and wings.

That quick glance was a bad idea since I wasn't looking where I was going I ran straight into Thomas who is having a hard time keeping up in the First place we both fall and I landed right on  his busted leg.

I quickly got off the ground but Thomas laid  there holding onto his leg as he cried in pain.

Patton kneels down trying to help but it's no use there's no way Thomas can continue running in this state."GO!!"Thomas practically shouts.

"NO" Joan responds "I'm not leaving another camper behind never again." Joan was on the brink of tears. he looked at the three of us then back to that tree on the hill. "Alright everyone here's the plan."

CH8 done, oooh Its about to get good so stay tuned.
