Jake's P.O.V
After Scooter announced the winner, that was the last thing planned for the concert. I walked off the stage with Skye wrapped in arms. I leaned down and whispered in her ear, "When we get back to the hotel room, we need to talk" I see Skye nod her head in agreement. I hear Kevin shout something, "Hey so what are we going to do to celebrate Miss. Talent over here?" Skye smiles, "Kevin it's 11pm I don't think we can get in any where nice so let's just do it tomorrow agreed" I quickly cut into the conversation, "Yeah agreed, now meet you guys back at the hotel?" I watch as they all nodded in agreement. So I walked out of the arena with Skye in my arms, I walked her to the rental car and opened the door for her. I ran over to the driver's side and drove towards the hotel. There was a comfortable silence while I was driving, then I heard Skye speak. "Jake I didn't plan on winning or even finish that contest sorry for ruining it" I quickly glanced over to her and then focused back on the road. "It's ok Skye, the only thing that bothers me now is whoever after you, will have a easier time to find you now that you kinda became famous" I look back over and see her smiling, "Why are you smiling at that?" I ask with a confused look smeared a crossed my face. I hear her giggle, "Because I have you to protect me" I felt my cheeks heat up a little from that statement. "OH MY GOSH did I just get THE JAKE MILLER to blush" Skye said acting like a crazed fangirl. I start laughing at that, "Yeah you did beautiful" I say looking over at her and see her cheeks are the ones that are heating up now. I smile, "And I see I'm not the only one blushing here"
We finally pull into the parking lot of the hotel and find a parking spot. I run over and open her door for her, "Why thank you kind sir" Skye says while blushing again. I bow slightly, "Your welcome my lady" I hear her giggle as she gets out of the car, I shut the door and stick out my arm for her to take. She loops her arm through mine and we make our way up to the hotel room. We pass the front desk clerk, who waved to us as we walked by. We entered the elevator and hit our floor number. As the door shuts Skye hits my arm, "Jake listen to what's playing right now" I listen real carefully to the music playing over top. My mouth falls open slightly when I make out the song to be 'Collide'. I start to sing along with Skye and when it came to the part when I would ask my fans at my shows to jump, I started to jump. Skye started to freak out when the elevator came to a halt and hit me on the arm. "Jake look what you did you broke the elevator" she said giving me a death look. But I could not help but smile at her, then the doors opens for someone to get on. I see Skye's face get all red from being wrong, so I lean down next to her ear, "So I broke the elevator" her face gets even more red if that's possible and hit my arm without looking. The elevator final dinged mean we reached our floor finally. I felt Skye entangle her hand with mine as we walked down the hallway. We finally came to the door and I pulled out the little key card and slipped it in the little slot. The button on the door flashed green meaning it's unlocked and I pushed it open. I quickly in one fell swoop I tucked my hand under Skye's shin and carried her into the room bridal style. I walked over to the couch and slowly placed her down while kissing down her jaw line. I made it to her ear and whispered, "We have to do something for you since you won" she slightly pushes on my chest, "Ok but what?" she asks pondering what we could do at almost midnight. "I know, how about some ice cream and a movie marathon?" I see Skye scrunch up her eyebrows, "But Jake that means we would have to go back out to get the ice cream" I just smile and shake my head, "Wrong I always keep some of this on deck cause I don't know when I need it or not" I walk over to the little fridge/freezer and pull out a pint of Mint Chocolate ice cream. "I hope you like Mint Chocolate" I say sitting down next to her. "I do actually that is my favorite kind of ice cream. I got up to get spoons, when I heard my phone buzzing. I hand the spoons to Skye and walk over to my phone. I notice I'm getting a Skype call from my mother. I accept the call, "Hello Mom" My mother's face comes onto the screen. "Hello son, someone won't go to bed until you tuck him in" she turns the camera to show Nolan in his Spongebob PJ. "Ok let me go into the bedroom and do that" I told Skye I would be right back and entered the bedroom to tuck in my son.
Skye's P.O.V
Jake handed me two spoons and said he would be right back. He told me to pick a movie and wait for him to come back. I could not find a movie to save me life so I would let him pick it. It has been some time since Jake went into the bedroom; I better go check on him to make sure he didn't fall asleep. I tip toe over to the door and see its cracked open a little. I stick my ear up to the crack in the door and hear Jake talking to someone. "Daddy?" I heard the other voice ask. "Yeah son?" Jake responded. "What do you miss about mommy?" "What do I miss about mommy" Jake takes a deep breath before responding. "Everything, I miss her laugh, her smile, and I miss her little nose, that she gave to you. Luckily you didn't get mine, you would look weird" I heard laughter coming from the other voice. "I miss every time the Wizard of Oz was on" "I love that movie" the other voice said cutting off Jake, "I know, she would sing all the songs to us, especially over the rainbow" There was a short silence before Jake spoke again. "Do you know what I miss the most about her?" Jake asked. "No, what?" "Getting to tell her how much I love her" "Are you aloud to do that with anyone else?" The little voice asked. Jake was caught off guard but still responded, "Am I aloud to do that with anyone else, your mother before she left...is all she would talk about. Me finding someone else , but I would tell her I can't because she is my one and only" "What did mommy say" "Your mom would say that my heart was so big that it has enough room for two and that's another thing I missed about her she thought I was awesome" there was a silence that fell over the room, until the little voice responded, "I think your awesome Daddy" I felt the tears running down my face, before I made my presence know, I slowly made my way back to the couch. I quickly dried the tears off my face before Jake came back. After it felt like I got all the tears off my face I quickly started looking through the movies. I heard the bed room door shut and feet shuffling behind me. "So how about this one?" I asked Jake as the couch dipped next to me. He swung his arm around my shoulders, "The Wizard of Oz?" he asked with a quizzical look on his face. I fought back the tears remembering the conversation I just heard, "Yeah it's my favorite movie Jake" Jake smiled and brought me into his embrace and hit play. The last thing I remember him saying before falling asleep in his arms was, "Yeah it's my favorite too"
(A/N So what's up my fellow followers.....Sorry for the long wait for chapters but I have been family trouble the last couple of weeks with my grandfather dying and missing out on the funeral and then there was Final's for school the week before that so I'm sorry I could not update as much as I wanted but here is Chapter 17 and I hope you like it cause I was crying the whole time I was writing that last part but any who please vote, comment, and share with a friend and just remember I love you guys more then you guys imagine!!!!)
