Cameron's P.O.V
A warm feeling filled my body as the bullet traveled through my lower abdomen. I cough up blood on to the person below me. I can't make out the face through blurred vision. I fall to my side and then on to my back. I could hear police sirens just outside the arena. The person that I was above comes to my side and I manage to slur out "Go help Skye" I met his eyes and I could make out it was Jake that I was fighting and trying to kill. Jake got up and hurried towards Skype. As I lost sight of Jake, the paramedics where rushing into the venue now. I could hear them talking through walkie talkies. Two found me and started pulling out medical supplies. I just slowly used my energy to reach up and grab the closest ones arm. The women to my right jumped when I grabbed her arm. Before I could muster enough energy to speak, she beat me to it, "Sir please save all your energy, you're in good hands now" As she got the last word out another shot was fired from up where Jake ran off to. Both paramedics looked in the general direction they thought the shot was fired. The one on my right ushered her partner off to go see what happened and see if anyone need medical attention. I looked at the ceiling as her partner grabbed his medical bag and raced off. She looked back at me and I motioned her to come closer. She bent down towards me more and I whispered in her ear. She let me get out what I wanted to be said and nodded in agreement with my request. I could feel my body becoming tired and I knew I would be closing my eyes for the last time. I just hope the nurse keeps her promise.
Jake's P.O.V
I stand there as Skye tells me "I LOVE YOU", then before I could even do anything she stomps on his foot and went for the gun. I lunged forward hoping to reach them before something happened but as I was in motion another shot was fired and I stopped died in my tracks. Hoping I accidently pulled the trigger and the shot was from me but I watched as both of them fall over slowly. They both hit the floor and I was screaming at my body to move but my legs turned to cement. My body jumped out of shock, when a paramedic rushed into the room and started asking questions. I raced over to Skye's side and saw the bullet traveled through her chest right next to her heart. The paramedic followed me to her body and radioed for more paramedics as he survived his surroundings. I watched as he checked over Skye's body, He snapped at me, "Don't just sit there put pressure on her wound" I quickly put my hands over her wound and applied pressure. I looked back at the paramedic for reassurance that I was doing it correctly but he was checking her wrist for a pulse. He let out a small gasp, "She has a pulse, faint but she has one" I smile at the hope he just said and looked over at her face, "You're not leaving me yet because I'm not done loving you yet" I slur out between sobs. More paramedics barrel through the doorway and I'm pushed to the side with my own group of paramedics as they rush Skye out the room. I get told to take a seat in a wheelchair to be pushed down to an ambulance. As I make it out the building camera's and questions start flying my direction. "What happened in there?", "Shots were fired are you okay?", "Was the lady that came out a few moments ago any link to you Jake?" the media was through questions and camera's in my face. Some extra paramedic's made a path for me to be wheeled up to the ambulance. I was helped up into the back as they laid me down on the stretcher and started an IV in my arm. They kept throwing questions at me like "Are you alright?", "Does anything hurt?", and etc but all I was thinking about was Skye. I look towards the closest paramedic, "Is the girl that left okay?" He avoids eye contact but says, "Her odds are slim, by just looking at her we have determined that the bullet as passed through her chest and might have hit her heart or an artery around the heart, so it's up in the air" I went to say something but the drugs they pushed through my IV all of a sudden hit me and I passed out.
I slowly woke up. My eyes got adjusted to the new environment. I made out I was in a hospital room hooked up to an IV. Surveyed the room and noticed I'm in a single room. The door opened and a nursed walked in. She noticed I was awake and smiled. "Okay Mr. Miller it seems that you just have a couple bruised ribs and bruising up and down your body, so your body needs to rest so it can heal. She said all that while checking my vitals. I waited until she was done talking to finally ask my burning question. She looked back at me from writing down the last of important information she came in here for and that was my chance. "How is the girl that came in here before me...Skye Diamond?" She meets my eyes with empathy, "She is in emergency surgery, the bullet nicked one of the artery's leading to her heart" I was feeling a lot of different emotions at once as she continued. "So she needs a heart transplant and she has a working heart donated to her so it's up to her now if she accepts it or not" I went to ask more questions but she brought her finger up to her mouth and silenced me, "Now you need to rest so that you can be healthy when you go and see her okay. I nod and watch her as she makes her way out the room, I didn't even know how tired I am but it didn't take long for me to pass out.
Skye's P.O.V
I open my eyes and all I see is white. I spin around on the balls of my feet and nothing but emptiness in the color white that goes on forever. After a couple of minutes or hours because I don't know how time works here. I just start walking straight or what I think it straight. As I continued walking walks started to become clear as day. The more I walked I started to notice more and more things, like doors started to become visible and even name plates on the doors. I tried some of the doors but they wouldn't open so I just continued walking. I started to think I would never get down this insanely long hallway but it opened up to this circler room. There was a wheelchair ramp type thing that wrapped around the whole room and went up five floors. I let out a deep sigh and fell to the floor defeated. I mumbled to myself, "This place never ends and it's all the same, I just wished I knew where I was" I reclined backwards until my back connected with the floor and shut my eyes. As soon as I covered my eyes I heard I boys voice. "Hey I didn't think you would give up that easily" I quickly shot up and looked around but didn't see anyone. Then I heard the voice again, "No silly up here" I looked up and saw a boy about three floors above me looking down at me. I could not make out who the boy was but he seemed friendly and for some odd reason I felt like a knew him. So I went with my gut, "Who are you and where are we?" I asked the only question that pondered my mind since I began this walk. "Oh silly Skye you know who I am you just need to take a better look" and with that he was gone. I kept looking around hoping to see him again but I could not find him. "Um Skye over here" I quickly follow the voice and I spot Cameron only two feet away from me. Tears start to fill my eyes and I run towards him. We crash in each other's arms and just soak up this moment, however long it may last.
He pulls away slightly and we meet each other's eyes. "You never answered my question" he smirks like he normally did. "You are in a hospital" I'm taken back at his response and went to ask the question again but then I noticed that I was in a hospital gown. "Okay if I'm in a hospital where is everyone and why is it just me and you?" "Well like I said you are in a hospital" Cameron said in air quotes. I went to speak again but he cut me off, "Skye I'm dead" as he said that tears brimmed my eyes, "What do you mean dead?" he smirks again, "I'm dead we can say that" Before the tears come I say without thinking, "Your dead, does that mean I'm dead?" "No, I'm just staying here with you for a bit. At some point, I'm assuming I'll have to go there" I follow his gaze and see only the skylight above us. "Where?" I ask all confused. "Over there to the light. You don't see it?" Cameron says. I scrunch up my face, "There is a light? Seriously?" He smirks again, "Seriously" "I don't see it" he mumbles, "So, you're... you're dead. I'm not dead. But here we are. - Where are we exactly?" "Somewhere in between" I place my hand on my side, "So you're procrastinating" he chuckles, "No you're procrastinating." I fold my arms a cross my chest like normal. I try to think back to what happened and the only thing I can remember is pulling the trigger and feeling the bullet pass through me. "I should be dead too" he looks confused as he takes in my outburst. "If you're talking about the bullet that passed through you, it hit one of the main artery connected to your heart" I cut him off before he could finish, "See I should be dead" he nods his head no, "You are receiving a new heart" I feel an anger building inside me because he is acting all nonchalant that he died and I'm not. "I don't deserve the heart" He looks down at the floor, I went to continue my rant but he speaks over me, "You already have my heart, Skye.
Now you just need to take it for real."
