Chapter 10

Ahsoka walked through the town of Alderaan walking past the destruction of the town, to the many bodies lying on the ground, the stench of blaster fire still in the air images that would haunt her for the rest of her life.

(So this is what death and despair feels like.....) Ahsoka thought having many emotions go through her, such as regret and anger for not being able to save others who could not escape the bloodshed.

Soon she reached an shop that had miraculously survived the attack, "Um excuse me? Do you know where I can get glasses?" She asked the shopkeeper, but the response she got was less than desirable.

"We don't serve your kind Jedi! You may claim to be peacekeepers but you're drawing us into a war we didn't ask for!" The shopkeeper snapped, she had an scruffy look, with eyes that looked as if she hadn't slept all night.

Ahsoka understandably fired back, "We didn't start the war! The sith did!" She said, "Pah! Sith, Jedi? What's the difference? All they do is fight! It takes two to start an argument." The shopkeeper went dryly with deep resentment.

Ahsoka then says, "I'm here for an friend who's hurt! He's been nearly blinded trying to fight for what's right, and what were you doing? Nothing. Absolutely nothing, so you have no right to chastise Jedi!" She said as the shopkeeper secretly intimdated gave Ahsoka the glasses for free and Ahsoka left.

But these thoughts stuck in her head, (Are we even in the right to begin with?) She thought, heading back to the hospital, to James' room.

"Here, try them on." Ahsoka said and James slipped the glasses on, being able to see again, "Thanks Ahsoka....." he said then suddenly embracing her, "H-huh...? What's the matter?" She asked.

"I just want to leave...." He said, "I lost my mother......and now I've learned people are keeping secrets from me." James said, quiet but with a tone of anger mixed with sadness.

Ahsoka simply says, "James you can't let that destroy you emotionally. There are people keeping secrets yes, but it's just a way of protecting you." Ahsoka said.

James' voice seemed to soften, "I guess....still doesn't make it okay." He said, "No it doesn't, but listen your mother wouldn't want you to just crack under pressure and give up, you need to live on, keep going for her sake can you do that?" Ahsoka said.

"Yeah, I will......thanks Ahsoka, you seem to have a way of getting people out of the dumps." James said as he and Ahsoka just hug it out.

Later that night, Shmi's clothes were burned in a funeral pyre, but in admist all this, Palpatine spoke to Anakin, "I'm terribly sorry about your mother." He said sympathising, "Thanks Chancellor......but I should have been strong enough to save her....." Anakin said looking at his new golden hand, being reminded of her death.

"Then I can help you with some more knowledge to save others." Palpatine said, as Anakin blinked but suddenly nods, "Thank you...." he said, but Obi Wan and James felt rather apprehensive about Palpatine feeling that this particular bond might lead to trouble.

After the funeral, James and Obi Wan along with Zoe seeked out the counsel of Yoda, speaking of the events of the attack and what Eclipse had said, causing Yoda to frown.

"The possibility that a Sith lord has infiltrated the senate, troubling this news is, but truth hard to be certain it is." Yoda said, "Even so, it's best we keep this quiet from any other Jedi or senator, especially the Senate for it could spread mass panic." Obi wan said.

"But what about Eclipse and Dooku? Shall we go after him?" Zoe asked, as James looked concerned, (I guess the revelation of him being her grandfather came as a harder shock.) He thought.

"I also wish to join Zoe in the search." Obi Wan said as Yoda looks at the pair, "Really hoping to find Dooku and Eclipse you two are? Or a deeper reason there is? One answer, the Jedi way this is not." Yoda said thoughtfully.

"In this shroud of the dark side, for a time of war, a moral grey there is, causes many in the light to become clouded by fear which is a path to the dark side." Yoda spoke, talking about the force.

"Master....I haven't been feeling the same since Qui Gon's demise, I've been having visions of his death, and one about an person engulfed in flames, I'm not certain of what they mean." Obi Wan said.

"And I just learned that.....Eclipse is my grandfather, so I wish to know the truth and also have some form of closure, my apprentice James feels the same as us regarding Qui Gon." Zoe said.

Yoda looked at James, "True this is?" He asked calmly, "Yes master, and I want to bring Dieo to justice, for being the reason my mother died, for him to stand trial and face judgement for his crimes." He said confidently in resolve, as Yoda nods, "Words of a Jedi Knight, that is."

"Seek out Dooku you all will." Yoda said, "What!?" Obi Wan said shocked, "Trained Qui Gon, Dooku did, still not let go of his death fully, you have." Yoda said as Zoe, James and Obi Wan go to Anakin.

"Johnathan, Anakin, We're going after Dooku." James said, explaining what was happening, "Alright,I shall follow you James." Johnathan said getting up, having recovered from Dieo's betrayal.

"So will I--" Anakin said before Obi Wan cuts him off, "No, you still need to rest, and this is something we have to sort on our own." Obi Wan said.

"Can I join?, I feel like getting out after that ordeal!" Mae called from her hospital bed,
"If she's going I'll go as well." Gregg said sharing the same feeling.

"Very well but you might encounter another Sith lord." Zoe said taking into account their mental states.

"I can handle em,I have this after all!" Mae said displaying an scatter gun, "I have a weapon that spits lead as well!" Gregg said showing his gun.

"And how did you get that?" Obi Wan said rather disapprovingly, "Those are rather clumsy and random weapons." He said, "So uncivilised!" He added.

"None of your business!" Mae grunted, "The armory, thought I'd be good to have self defense and these can't be deflected back." Gregg pointed out.

"Anyway let's go." James said as they depart for Tatootine and try to find Dooku....

Finished another chapter! The reason this kinda took a while is because I was kinda struggling on the extended dialogue between James and Ahsoka, and also clone wars volume one work, so yeah I'm gonna wrap up this story soon so I can move on.
