Trigger warning
-
Changbin shifted awkwardly as he checked the time on his phone.
9:45 pm
"Uh guys I think I should be heading home soon..."
Hyunjin looked away from the game he was playing.
"Really? It's not even that late."
He said, glancing down at his watch.
"My mom is just an alarm clock when it comes to curfew, always going off about it."
Changbin said, rolling his eyes.
Seungmin patted his back,
"Don't worry, both of my parents are huge helicopter parents. I have to start heading back too."
Hyunjin popped his third balloon, picking out a panda bear and handing it to Changbin.
"I could drive you guys back."
Hyunjin offered, flinging his arm over the shorter boys shoulders.
Seungmin rolled his eyes.
"I don't wanna third weal!"
Hyunjin patted the younger's back.
"C'mon! At least you won't be stuck with Minsung the entire way home."
Seungmin stiffened, his eyes going wide. Shaking his head quickly.
"No way am I sitting through those two eye-sexing eachother throughout the entire car ride."
Hyunjin giggled as he dragged Seungmin and Changbin to his car, waving at the others.
The two did rock paper scissors to see who they would drop off first, Changbin ended up being the first one to be dropped off. As to why they were parked in front of his house, staring at the house lit with lights.
Changbin took a deep breath as he glanced at the time.
10:15 pm
Changbin sighed out a shaky breath, he's so dead.
Changbin waved at the two as he got out of the car, stumbling past the car parked sloppily in his driveway.
She was most likely drunk again.
As he got to his door he looked back at the car still parked on the side of the road, waving again.
Changbin turned back and opened his door quietly, trying his best to not make a sound.
"Changbin. Where. Have. You. Been.?"
Changbin froze, closing the door behind him.
"Mom... Uh, I was studying at the library with my friends and uh... We went and uh continued to study at their house. We have uhm a math test at the end of the week and we have to get our studying in?"
Changbin winced at his lame excuse.
Changbin's mom loomed over Changbin, her heels making her seem like a giant next to the boy.
"What did I say about lying to me boy?"
Changbin shook as his mom grabbed him by his upper arm, pulling him deeper into the maze of his house.
"Mom I sor-"
Changbin was cut off by her throwing him onto the floor and kicking him in the stomach. Knocking the air out of the teenager.
Changbin curled into a ball, hiding himself as much as he could as a flurry of kicks aimed at his head and chest.
Changbin's mom stumbled over to the table, grabbing a half empty bottle of alcohol and throwing it at Changbin.
The glass shattered over Changbin's head, liquid poured over his head and Changbin couldn't tell if it was blood or alcohol.
Changbin's eyes burned as he cried and whimpered.
Changbin's mother picked him up off of the floor, throwing him over to the table, and shattering the glass and wood.
Changbin gasped as glass shards stuck into his back.
Changbin's mom grabbed him and threw him back at the wall, stepping on his back with her heel.
Changbin whimpered as she dug her shoe into his back, right into a glass wound.
"Worthless."
Worthless.
"Mistake."
Kick.
Mistake.
"Stupid."
Kick.
Stupid.
"Not good enough."
Kick.
Not good enough.
Silence.
Changbin was left bleeding on the floor.
All alone.
All alone.
As always.

Hyunjin waited in front of the school for Changbin as usual.
Jisung was blabbing his ear off about how Minho was so beautiful and how he always tasted like bubblegum and strawberries.
Hyunjin blanked the younger out halfway through the younger's rant.
Hyunjin saw as Changbin walked up to the school, a mask pulled up his face and a hat covering his eyes.
Changbin walked up to the school, a limp in his walk.
"Hey binnie! What's up?"
Chan asked as the shorter walked closer to the school.
The younger didn't even look up as he walked past them.
The group looked at eachother in confusion. Hyunjin following behind the shorter, the other walking behind him.
"Changbin. Changbin! Seo Changbin!"
Hyunjin yelled, grabbing the shorters wrist tightly, swinging him around.
Changbin yelped as his hat fell from his head, revealing a huge gash across his forehead.
Hyunjin gasped lightly as he brought his hand up to the shorters forehead, the older flinching and putting his hands above his head.
"Changbin... Baby what happened to you...?"
Hyunjin whispered.
"I- uh its- its nothing. I-im fine I just fell down my stairs."
Changbin rushed out, pulling his hat back on his head and running off.
And Hyunjin swears he had never seen such dull eyes.
