Chapter 2: Test Drive

Izuku was walking back to his home after catching Froakie at the Pokémon center. All he could think about was his new partner. He was stoked! He thought he couldn't amount to anything ever since he was humiliated in front of his class and now he has one strong Pokemon right by his side. Izuku kept staring at his Pokeball the entire walk home thinking about all possible and exciting adventures that both of them would have.

He still couldn't believe what had happened to him. What he had to go through in the classroom and in the forest. So much has happened, but Izuku doesn't regret one thing if it led to him reuniting with an old friend and partner. Although, he does wish that Froakie didn't have to get hurt in the midst of everything. Everything felt like a fever dream to Izuku and he wished he would never wake up from it. He continued his stroll with a big wide smile.

The walk home was relieving and peaceful. The beautiful blue sky with such fluffy clouds that have the same color pattern as an Altaria was hovering over the broccoli headed boy. The wind that breezed through his skin gave Midoriya a sense of relief and calmness in his mind. He was admiring the view of Starly's and Staravia flying up in the air and seeing Budew and Sewaddle playing on the grass. After what seemed to be ten minutes of walking, he reached his apartment and started to knock aggressively and repeatedly non-stop. At one point it sounded like he was about to bust down through the door like a SWAT team. Inko kept shouting to wait for her as she was getting slightly annoyed, but all Izuku could do was just keep knocking. Once she opened the door she saw Izuku gleaming with joy with arms behind his back, almost as if he was about to surprise her. Inko sighed and only worried about her son's antics.

"Izu, what is the need to knock so hard?" Inko asked, rubbing her temple.

"MOM!! LISTEN, IT'S REALLY IMPORTANT!" Izuku shouted with excitement with his arms behind his back.

"Okay, okay if you say so. Just come in sweetheart, you need to eat breakfast." Inko said, pushing Izuku to the kitchen; Izuku then quickly put the pokeball into his pocket. She then set him down at the table and fed him some eggs and bacon with milk on the side.

"Thanks mom!" Izuku said gratefully as he started to shove the eggs down his mouth like he hasn't eaten in days. Inko tried her best to stay irritated at her son, but couldn't as she could just adore the sight she was looking at for days.

"Izuku I don't think you called me to watch you eat the breakfast I made you.. So what's so important that you needed to show me?" Inko asked, crossing her arms chuckling a bit. Izuku then took a big gulp of his food and drank his milk, clearing his throat.

"Mom you would not believe it but.." Izuku then reached into his pocket and then pulled out a pokeball leaving Inko in shock.

"I-Izuku.. How did you..? The school said they weren't able to provide you with one." Inko asked, still in utter shock. Izuku then puffed up his chest and explained the story to her one last time.

"Honey that's just.. AMAZING!! I CAN'T BELIEVE MY BABY FOUND HIMSELF A NEW PARTNER!" Inko said, hugging her child with joy. After a solid five minutes she broke the hug apart and asked Izuku to show his new partner. WIthout hesitation he threw his pokeball saying "Froakie, I choose you!" It then revealed the infamous blue frog that saved the one and only Izuku Midoriya.

"Froakie! This is my mom Inko Midoriya, you should say hi!" Izuku said, smiling. Froakie was a bit shy, but instantly calmed down after sensing that Inko is Izuku's mother. He immediately hopped onto her shoulder as she gasped in surprise. She started scratching his neck as the frog started closing his eyes in satisfaction.
