Chapter 3: Successor

A few weeks have gone by since Izuku and Katsuki's first battle. Both have been training as hard as they can since there are only nine months left before the UA entrance exam. Nine months may seem like plenty of time for the two to train, but to them, it's too little. Every second, minute, hour, day, week, or month is crucial for the two if they want to make it in. Izuku has stayed dedicated every single day. He has been training his Froakie while catching Pokemon to fill up his Pokedex. As of now, he has a total of twelve Pokemon registered in his Pokedex and he doesn't have any plans of stopping. Katsuki has been mainly focusing on training his Cyndaquil and Mankey. Unlike Izuku, he doesn't plan to catch every single Pokemon. He goes through very intensive training and only captures Pokemon he deems worthy of him. However, Katsuki made a deal with Izuku that they wouldn't be seeing each other as much so that they could both be fully prepared to take on the UA entrance exams. They decided to meet once a week to check on each other's progress.

9:00 A.M. (IZUKU MIDORIYA HOUSEHOLD)

Izuku woke up at seven in the morning to do his morning jog with Froakie. The two have decided that if Froakie is going to train, then Izuku is going to train with him as well. Once the two finished running at eight in the morning, Izuku took a shower and freshened up while Froakie also cleaned itself. After Izuku's shower, Inko served him and Froakie breakfast. The trainer and partner then chowed down on the food as if it were their last meal on Earth. Inko chuckled at her son and his Pokemon and went on to clean the kitchen.

After what seemed like ten minutes of eating, Izuku went to his room and packed up his belongings in his bag. He brought some Pokemon medicine, Pokeballs, Pokedex, water, and an extra set of clothes. Before he left his room he forgot to grab one more thing.

"Oh, I almost forgot!" Izuku exclaimed. He ran over to his study desk and picked up a PokeNav. He received one after encountering a Pokemon researcher who was under Professor Oak. The researcher recognized Izuku as he heard Professor Oak sympathize and praise the boy. The researcher then insisted on letting Izuku keep a PokeNav he had in his parcel.

Izuku then placed the PokeNav in his bag and exited his room. He wasted no time putting on his shoes and waving Inko goodbye.

"Bye, mom! I'll be back before dinner!" Izuku said as he went off with Froakie on his shoulder.

"Goodbye, son! Stay safe out there!" Inko said, smiling and waving. Izuku smiled back and closed the door.

"They grow up so fast.." Inko sighed, wiping a tear from her eye.

Izuku can never get tired of the outside world. The view, the surroundings, and the noises felt so exciting to Izuku. He knows that there's a whole world of Pokemon out there that has yet to be fully discovered, and the thought of that just excites him. As the grenette takes in the beautiful scenery of the blue sky and inhales and exhales deeply, he proceeds to run towards Route 4 to fight new trainers and catch new Pokemon.

At first, Izuku's stamina was weak. He never liked exercising or gave a thought or two about it. However, after knowing the work that Froakie has to go through, he decides that his partner in crime shouldn't be alone. And so with that, Izuku has always accompanied Froakie in training. The two would be constantly training at their local park. Froakie would be practicing moves and techniques, while Izuku was exercising his body.
