"uuuggggh" I groaned loudly, rolling out of the bed and turning off my alarm. I got my lazy ass up and sauntered into the kitchen of my dingy apartment and prepared breakfast which was just ordinary cereal.
"Good morning mate" my Australian roommate Hattie walked in while yawning.
"Morning" I replied stuffing my mouth with more cereal.
"What's the agenda for today?" She asked while rummaging the fridge.
"I've finally decided to apply for an office job"
"Wow great, since when though"
"Yesterday, I quit my job at the cafe and library, the former was actually because a customer was harassing me"
"And let me guess you punched him and then your bitchy manager wanted to fire you but you quit instead wanting the last say"
"You know me so well"
She hummed and made her own cereal.
"What's your own agenda for today. Smoking weed or ending up in bed with a blue eyed guy"
She chuckled bemused "Nope, I actually think I'm going to relax alone since work at the bank has been hectic"
I stared at my brunette big green eyed round face with pointed nose friend in shock. "Are you ok" I then check her forehead.
She got annoyed and slapped my hand away "I'm perfectly fine, I'm serious" I hummed mockingly and went straight to my room to get ready for the long day ahead.
Our apartment wasn't anything fancy but it wasn't small either, we were leaving mostly on Hattie's salary, that's why I needed to step up my game and use my degree for something. When we first got to NYC a year ago, we had to live in her cousin's studio apartment which was in a very bad neighborhood. We decided that with everything that has happened Hattie should get an office job first as an accountant to be on a safer side so I settled for a job as a waitress at a fancy cafe and work with the books and clean and other stuff. I've been harassed a few times at the cafe but yesterday was the last straw when the bastard touched my ass not so subtly.
So that's why I'm in front of the mirror in Black and White striped khakis with a white plain blouse and a black purse white Nike shoes.
"Don't wait up for me bye" I yelled not waiting for her response and grabbed my jacket and keys then used it to lock the door.
I took the elevator down and strolled to the bus stop. I pulled my hair in a ponytail and got on the bus with a random location in mind. I got off at my destination and buy a newspaper looking for the wanted section, and with that I began the hunt.
Six Hours Later
I ended up at Starbucks with the newspaper in hand extra tired, striking off the one that didn't need help and the ones that doesn't exactly do interviews in Saturday.
I ordered a vanilla cappuccino with chocolate cake thinking that I at least deserve it for my hard work today.
I glanced at clock and decided on continuing the job hunt on Monday since it was more appropriate for everyone, 'eyeroll'
I ordered an Americano for Hattie and a marble cake to go then stepped outside onto the crisp air. I felt a vibration on my body so I patted my pockets for it. In doing so I didn't watch where I was heading so I bumped into a hard wall spilling my coffee all over the wall and I. I gaped at the mess on my shirt and look up to see the cause of it. As cliche as this sounds the man standing in front of me was the most gorgeous man I've ever seen. Medium sized pink lips pressed in a thin line, beautifully sculpted jaw which made me think wether it was God who took his time and did it by himself, piercing grey eyes which held a story behind them and brown hair jelled back not a strand out of place. He was dressed in a black suit with no tie but two of his front button on his now stained white shirt popped open.
I shook my head "Can't you see where you're going, look at what you've done" I said angrily and pointed to my shirt.
He raised a perfectly shaped eyebrow and wonderd why guys are the only ones blessed with great eyebrows.
"Why weren't you looking at where you're going either" wow is it me or is his mere deep and husky voice turning me on
"I was looking for something, can't you even apologize"
He gave me a bored look and went back to his phone, I saw red at how arrogant he was and almost wanted to snatch his phone and throw it away when he said
"I never apologize and I won't start now especially to someone like you" I couldn't help but notice how his every word was laced with venom.
"I'm very sorry to expect an arrogant bastard to say sorry to people like us" I talked back with the same tone. He took a step forward and grabbed my arm tightly, but I acted like it didn't faze me,
"What did you say"
I looked straight into his eyes and repeated
"I said you're a selfish, arrogant bastard and asshole" with that I yanked my hand looked around a bit and noticed a crowd already forming with people filming. Not wanting more attention I walked away not before hearing.
"I promise you'll regret that" with so much determination.
I ignored it I went back to the apartment and slumped on the couch near Hattie.
"So how was job hunting ?"
"Eventful".
Later that night I went to bed thinking.
Why does he look so familiar. Almost like..... No i most be over thinking this.
