"Fuck me"

"As good as that sounds I think I'll pass Ms Clint"

I can't believe it's this asshole again.

"You're Aiden Knight?"

"Yes.." he stood  a few metres in front of me with a hard gaze. "as you can see"

I sighed "I quit" I was about to turn around when he spoke up.

"You can't. You've already signed a contract which says you can't quit willingly except if I fire you" shit

I narrowed my eyes at him "if you think I'm gonna work for a jerk that can't even stand my presence think again, my pride is much bigger than that" I abruptly turned I got in front of the double doors.

"You have to swallow your pride Ms Clint because you would end up in a debt of 50 grand if you leave"

"I'll gladly work hard and pay the debt" I said still looking at the door.

He suddenly sounded so close "Walk out that door and face the consequences...." He began to sound distant "who knows it might not be you paying for it, it can be Ms Jones"

I stalked to him in anger but he was already behind his desk sitting straight "Leave, Hattie out of this"

"Ms Clint I would leave your friend if you coorperate"

I seethed "I hate you"

He started coming close "hate all you want but don't let that attitude of yours slip because I promise you if you try to get out of this intentionally your friend pays, now from now on you will respect me and keep your attitude in check, do I make myself clear?" He was now directly in front so close but no touching I glared at him with all the intensity I could muster and gave a nod " I want you to answer with words"

"Yes sir" I replied through gritted teeth.

"Adequate, now I need you to get out of my office, your mere presence is a disturbance. And after you've calmed down from your immature anger you can get me a plain black coffee" after saying that he sat on his desk getting back to work and ignoring me.

Angrily I stormed out of his office and looked around for the break room here, I found settled down on a sit and took deep breaths muttering to myself "Calm down Roxanne it's Illegal to kill, don't do anything stupid and put Hattie in danger" I decided to be the bigger person and just roll with it. I went straight to his office with his coffee in hand.

"Your coffee" I said in a straight forward tone.

"Too hot" I clenched my jaw all while remaking his coffee.

"Too cold"

Two coffees later he finally settled for the last one.

"Ms Clint I need you to sort out this papers alphabetically  then file them"

How about I sort out your teeth. "Yes sir" with a stiff nod I carried the stack which was more than half of my weight with trouble to my desk and got to work on it.

Time flew by without me knowing it then lunch break came. I received a call from Sophia asking me about lunch. I declined and got back to work not wanting to slack of. Even though I might be angry, I know that he would keep to his word about Hat if I mess it up.

When I was finally done it was already three in the afternoon. I made my way into the devil's office.

"Sir I'm done what else do you need me to do"

"I need you to go to the HR department and ask for the monthly review of last months tally on things. I need the file on the new Giovanni's project were working on from Johnson in architecture, Remind Hart of his peaching tomorrow, Get all the documents needed on the, Summer's deal for the meeting with the investors tomorrow. Run by Mr Jackson and remind him I'm still waiting on that damn report and get me another cup of coffee" he ordered without even looking up, I wanted to leave but he continued "I didn't dismiss you Ms Clint. Take this...."
He handed me a few files "Input it on your laptop when you're done with all that"

Looks like I'm sleeping here tonight.

6:30pm

That's the first thing that came from my phone while yawning. I stretched out and thanked heavens I got the documents typed in. I packed my stuff and head on to the devil's office informing him of my departure.

He simply nodded without even looking up. I rode down the elevator and stepped out of the office bidding Steve the security guard a good night and took a cab home.

"Ugh" my feet subconsciously took me into the apartment.

"Your day went great?" Hattie asked from the kitchen when I passed.

"Tiresome" and that said I got a quick shower going with comfortable short oversized clothes before joining Hattie on the couch. She passed me my plate of stirfry and scoffed it down in silence while watching boring TV.

"So you gonna talk about work"

I told her everything from when I met Aiden to today leaving out some vital parts like his threat and making him sound less like an asshole.

What someone needs to know if something bad happens.

"You know you didn't even tell me what you guys do in the company" she dropped off our dishes before continuing "Do you guys like have a meeting with the rest of Justice league"

"Haha very funny. We actually own multiple of hotel, restaurants, malls and so on"

"Hmm... You know the rumors I heard from my co workers about Aiden Knight?"

"What?"

"He could make anyone disappear, controls almost all of NY, even involved in a mafia but hey those are just rumors. Nothing you should be worried about"

I simply nodded and move on to another topic. When it was 10 I retired to my bed. Just as I was about to drift off my phone made a sound.
