Marnie Hart choked on her tea when she walked into the sitting room of 221B Baker Street to find her boyfriend covered in blood from head to toe. An equally alarmed John Watson reached over to pat her on the back as she clutched the edge of the table, coughing profusely and vaguely amused by the entire situation- only Sherlock Holmes.

"Well, that was tedious" he chose for his first words in the room and both of the military medics looked at him as if he had lost his mind- though, equally, they weren't entirely surprised, they knew him well by now.

"You went on the tube like that?"John sounded far too amused about the entire situation and Marnie just sighed as she began to mop up the tea spillage across the table.

"None of the cabs would take me" Sherlock pouted and Marnie roared with laughter at the innocence on his face. He was such a peculiar man but she loved him so deeply.

"Go and shower, Carrie" Marnie waved him off and he frowned as John laughed before storming off to get changed.

"How are you doing Marns? Itching for the army yet? This is the longest you've ever gone without it- an entire year, I'm proud" John winked, flopping the newspaper shut and dropping it easily onto the table. Marnie rolled her eyes as she chomped on her toast.

"No, you know... I'm actually good" she frowned, shrugging. "This is... Feels like the place to be. Time has gone by so fast" she contemplated it, she had been with them for a long time now and she was just as content as she had been in the beginning- it was never a choice for her, it was never them or the army- she had her answer even before she considered the possibilities. Sherlock and John, she would always choose them and she was proud to know that they would do the same for her.

Shortly, a clean Sherlock returned and kissed her sweetly on the forehead before proceeding to march around the room determinedly. He didn't like being bored- none of them did, they liked action, they liked doing something even if that something disrupted all of their carefully constructed peace and quiet.

"Nothing?" Sherlock demanded John who scanned the newspapers carefully, searching for anything interesting that they could investigate- it wasn't looking good.

"Military coup in Uganda" John listed. "Another photo of you with the hat" he pointed and Marnie grinned, scooping up the paper and proceeding to cut the picture out carefully while Sherlock rolled his eyes at her... Though he didn't complain, it always amused John to see how much Sherlock let Marnie get away with, anything as long as it made her happy. "Well, um, Cabinet reshuffle?"

"Nothing of importance?" Sherlock raged angrily, hitting his spear into the ground as he raged. "Oh, God!" Marnie wasn't even affected by his childishness, just humming calmly as she pinned the picture to the wall beside the desk with all the others. "John, I need some. Get me some" he pleaded and the combat medic looked over at the doctor who just sighed.

"No" John returned.

"Marnie?" he turned to the girl at the desk and she just shook her head with a hum, scanning the newspaper calmly. "But you love me!"

"Exactly." she smiled sweetly, folding her hands under her chin as she blinked up at him and he pouted as he went back to John- the doctor was far easier to persuade than Marnie.

"No. Cold turkey we agreed, no matter what" John declared fiercely. "Anyway, you've paid everyone off, remember? No-one within a two-mile radius will sell you any." John remarked and Sherlock sighed sadly. Marnie, laughing softly at him, pulled herself to her feet and rounded the desk to wrap her arms around his waist. The detective smiled down at her, arms looping around her own waist as he pressed a kiss to her forehead softly.
