During the course of several days, Kyosuke, Takeru and Ichiro went to the clothing store to go look for suits to wear during the seniors' dance. On the other hand, Risa, Mio and Yukie did the same, looking for nice dresses that fit them beautifully to impress their dates. It was a busy two weeks for the three boys and three girls.
Several days later, the night of the seniors' dance was close at hand.
Kyosuke of course was nervous and excited at the same time. He quickly showered and put on his suit, which was composed of a black jacket over a white dress shirt and a red vest and black pants. He put on a few sprays of perfume (and breath spray) before he went downstairs to meet his mother, who was driving him and his date to the dance.
"Ohh," said an amazed Matsuko, "Kyosuke, you look so handsome."
"T-Thanks, Mom," said Kyosuke, rubbing the back of his head and smiling sheepishly.
"Risa-chan will surely love it," said Matsuko, clasping her hands together.
"Oh, come on," said Kyosuke sarcastically with an awkward smile.
"Here's her corsage," said Matsuko, handing Kyosuke a corsage of white flowers. "Well, what are we waiting for? Let's go meet your date."
"R-Right," replied Kyosuke.
Meanwhile, Risa was in her room, putting makeup on and fixing her hair. She had already put on her dress, which was an elegant white flowing gown that matched her fair skin and auburn locks. She also had flowing white ribbons on either side of her head.
After a few minutes of looking in the mirror and making sure she was at her prettiest, a knock was heard on her door. It was her grandmother, who opened it and peered in.
"Risa, dear," said Granny Sakura, "Kyosuke-kun is waiting for you downstairs."
"I'm almost done," replied Risa.
"My," said the old lady, staring at her granddaughter in wonder. "You look like an angel, Risa."
"Thanks," said Risa, blushing slightly and smiling sweetly.
"Don't keep Kyosuke-kun waiting," Granny Sakura joked as she winked at her.
"Haha, okay," said Risa as her grandmother closed the door.
Risa was just as excited as Kyosuke was and chuckled at her pretty little face in the mirror.
A few minutes later, Kyosuke sat at the couch in Granny Sakura's living room waiting for his date to come downstairs. He crossed his fingers, nerve-wracked, but hopeful.
At last the beautiful Risa Takanaka presented herself to him as she slowly made her way down the stairs. Kyosuke stared at her as if she were an apparition of a goddess.
"R-Risa..." he said, his mouth agape in amazement.
"Hi," said Risa as she slowly walked toward him in her beautiful white gown.
Kyosuke stood up to meet his date. Granny Sakura smiled at the two.
"S-So," said Risa, tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, "how do I look?"
"Risa..." said Kyosuke, blushing wildly. "Y-You look... really beautiful."
"Thank you," said Risa, smiling gently at him.
Kyosuke then showed her the corsage and strapped it to her arm. "So, um, shall we go?"
"Yes, please," said Risa with a nod. Then the two exited the door, with Risa coming out first.
Outside the gate, Kyosuke opened Matsuko's car door for Risa to enter. He followed after the girl had sat comfortably.
"Hello, Risa-chan," said Matsuko from the driver's seat. "You look lovely tonight."
