Three months later, we see a nineteen-year-old Kyosuke Matsumaru walking around a college campus, speaking into his handset. He had moved out of his mother's home and had settled well in the dormitory he moved into. He had landed a course in music like he always said he would and he was telling Takeru all about it on the phone.
"It's great," he said. "First day of college and I'm already enjoying."
"That's awesome, man," replied Takeru on the phone. "I'm getting settled myself. Made a lot of new friends... Well most of them are video game geeks anyway."
"Ahaha," Kyosuke laughed. "Well, good for you. I hope you aren't cheating on Tsukisaki-san."
"Oh, Mio?" said Takeru with a snort. "Pffft. I quit being a voyeur a long time ago."
"Ha-ha," mocked Kyosuke. "As if."
"No, I'm serious," said Takeru. "I mean, I promised her that before I... proposed to her."
"Dude, what?!" said a surprised Kyosuke. "You did what?!"
"Yeah, I did," said Takeru softly.
"So, you--," Kyosuke said, "You guys are... engaged now?"
"Yep," said Takeru.
"Oh, my God, man," said Kyosuke, smiling. "Dude, that is awesome. I'm so happy for you."
"Thanks, Kyosuke," said Takeru. "How about you and Risa-chan?"
"Ah, well," said Kyosuke. "I haven't seen her in months. I mean, she moved out before I did."
"Oh," replied Takeru. "Did you propose to her?"
"Actually, I did," said Kyosuke. "I made a promise about seeing her again someday and marrying her."
"Man, that's sweet," said Takeru. "I know you'll meet her again. In fact, you may even meet her in places you won't expect."
And as soon as Takeru has said those words, Kyosuke stopped in his tracks, for a few yards in front of him stood a beautiful girl with long auburn hair blowing in the wind. She was also dressed nicely and was so radiantly beautiful that Kyosuke had to squint in order to see if he knew this girl. She looked back at him and smiled, for she recognized him as her beloved.
"Kyosuke? Yo, Kyosuke--" said Takeru before Kyosuke hung up his phone, staring at the pretty girl, whom he recognized as well, but could not believe that she was truly standing right in front of him.
Risa Takanaka, for he realized that it was truly her, smiled ever so sweetly as she tucked her hair over her ear. Kyosuke's mouth widened into a smile as he ran towards her, and the girl did as well. As soon as the two reached each other they gave each other a warm, loving embrace.
These two young lovers stood the test of time, and have found each other again. Kyosuke can now fulfill his promise of marrying the girl of his dreams, the girl next door. And it seems Risa will still live next to him, for they realized they were enrolled at the same school. Life will never be the same for these two, as a new chapter of their lives begins. This may be the end of my story, but for Kyosuke and Risa, it's only getting started.
Thank you all for reading and inspiring me to make this story. I love you all and God bless!
