Chapter Sixty

Inside, the gymnasium was filled with fancy tables and chairs and loud blaring disco-esque music and flashing lights. There was a small but pretty fountain right in the midst of the dance floor where the students at attendance were dancing to the booming tune.

Kyosuke and Risa were amazed at what they saw. The two of them were suddenly excited at the sight of the people dancing in formal attire. The looked at each other and smiled sheepishly.

Takeru then looked around for Ichiro in the crowd while Mio looked for Yukie. It was a moment before they caught sight of the two, sitting at a table drinking sparkling wine.

Ichiro had on an elegant-looking purple tuxedo with a white dress shirt beneath the jacket. Yukie meanwhile wore a black dress short to the calf and a purple scarf on her shoulders. She wore her hair down, which makes tonight the first that Ichiro saw Yukie not wearing her hair tied up.

"You guys," said Mio, waving at them.

Ichiro and Yukie waved back, smiling gently.

"Hi, Mio-chan," said Yukie.

"Tsukisaki-san," said Ichiro, raising his glass.

"Nice suit, clown boy," said Takeru jokingly with a chuckle.

"Uh, thanks," said Ichiro calmly. "Your suit doesn't look quite bad as well."

"Nice dress, Yukie-chan," said Mio with a smile. "And the scarf is beyond cute."

"Oh, t-thank you," said Yukie, smiling sheepishly. "I just threw it on anyway. By the way, you look really good as well."

"Thanks," replied Mio.

Kyosuke and Risa then approached them as well. "Hey, you two," said Risa, waving.

"Takanaka-san, Kyosuke-kun," Ichiro greeted them as he and Yukie stood up.

"May I say, Yukie-chan," said Kyosuke, putting his hands in his pockets, "what a lovely dress."

"T-Thanks," replied Yukie, blushing slightly. "You look... good too."

"By the way, Risa-chan," said Mio, staring at Risa's gown with wonder, "That's a beautiful gown you're wearing."

"Oh, thanks," replied Risa with a sweet smile.

"I hope we're not late for the... you know... slow dance," Kyosuke put in sheepishly.

"Nope," replied Risa. "The event just started."

Kyosuke uttered a deep sigh of relief.

"S-Slow dance...?" said Mio, blushing slightly. "Jeez, I forgot."

Yukie suddenly felt nervous and blushed as well.

"Yukie-chan?" said Ichiro, noticing her nervousness. "What is it?"

"Oh, n-nothing," replied Yukie, smiling awkwardly.

Mio glanced at Takeru and then looked away quickly.

"You dance...?" she asked him.

"Only if you let me," said Takeru softly into Mio's ear.

"Jeez," muttered Mio, blushing.

"Well, what are you guys waiting for?" said Risa with a cheerful smile. "Let's go have fun!" She then headed to the dance floor and started dancing to the groove. Sooner or later she was joined by Takeru and Mio.

Kyosuke, Ichiro and Yukie, however, preferred to sit down, have a drink of punch and watch the orgy of the students. Kyosuke had his eye on Risa and anyone who would dare take advantage of her in any way.
