Forth woke up and opened his eyes. For a moment he was confused to see a room that was unfamiliar to him. But then he panicked
"Argh ... beam!" Forth groaned in pain. He was about to wake up but someone held him back. Forth looked at Phana who was standing beside him.
"The boy is there," Phana said, pointing at another bed next to Forth's bed. Forth looked at Beam who was sleeping. He breathed a sigh of relief.
"How is the condition?" Forth asked Phana.
Phana sat back in the chair beside Forth.
"I found him passed out over your body. The doctor said that two of his ribs were broken, there were wounds in his neck and arms due to gunfire. Not to mention deep wounds.
Forth looked at Phana displeasedly
"Why are you staring at me like that? If it wasn't for me, you and he might be dead by now," Phana said irritably.
Forth sighed and looked at the innocent Beam
"You should have called me," Phana said sharply. Forth looked at his brother and smiled faintly "then what? Make your sin list bigger ? I don't want you to come and kill the man cruelly"
Phana looked at Forth displeased "And is that man alive now?" he asked sarcasm. Forth took a deep breath. He looked back at Beam. He remembered how Beam killed the man. Without hesitation. Beam shot the man three times. Forth can see that it's not the first time Beam has a weapon.
"He is not someone the police can handle," Phana said. "The man lives by becoming a hitman"
Forth looked at Phana in surprise "Why would someone want to kill Beam ?!"
Phana sighed. He looked at Beam. To be honest, he was also surprised that someone would dare to do this. Blatantly targeting one of the men of the Jamornhum family.
"Maybe because they didn't agree I handed over the south to Beam," Phana guessed. Phana's words again surprised Forth. He tried to sit. Phana chuckles and tries to hold back Forth again. Forth refused to lie down. He holds the sleeve of Phana's shirt tightly.
"You gave him such an important position ?!" said Forth irritably.
Phana snorted and looked at Forth not happy "He is quite shrewd and I trust him more than my own men"
Forth looked at Phana displeased "That would be the same as baiting it into the mouth of a tiger" he protested.
Phana who saw Forth's worried expression only smiled faintly.
"They say you like Beam. I can't believe it but ..." Phana stared closely at Forth "but it looks like you're serious"
Forth stared coldly at Phana. "Right. I am serious and I will get Beam out of our family," he threatened.
Forth's words made Phana laugh "people say love is blind. Seems to be true" Phana pushed Forth hard until Forth fell asleep to his bed. Phana pressed Forth's shoulders, making Forth wince in pain.
"Look closely ... He's not what you imagine ..." said Phana while telling Forth to look back at Beam.
"The man he killed. Shadow. Not just any hitman. Beam isn't as sweet as you think," Phana hissed sharply.
Forth looked at his brother closely.
"I thought about it carefully when I chose Beam and saw the results today, I wasn't wrong," Phana said. He let go of Forth and stood up while fixing his shirt.
