Chapter : Fourteen

 Beam POV

 After that night, Phi Forth said nothing.  He chose to behave as if such an event had never existed.  So am I.  I acted like I had never heard of Phana or his father who wanted to make me join them or they might get rid of me.  When I accepted this job, I already knew the risks that I had to face.

 I returned to busy myself with "my work".  Make financial reports based on the reports of my men.  I don't need to worry about White Dragon, I have a trustworthy March.  But, I watched reports from the Phana narcotics business in the south.  My forehead shriveled at the report from one of my men.  How can you sell something that someone can't refuse and your turnover actually decreases?  Either because his client overdosed, was arrested by the police, or moved to another supplier.  Whatever it is, Phana will not be happy to see the results.

 "What do you think?"  asked Phana when I reported his business development.

 I looked at Phana without any expression.  Either he was testing me or he did ask for my advice.  But from his expression that seemed to want to eliminate my incompetent men, I was sure he wanted to test me.

 "I'll look into it," I replied.  I do not want to lose a man just because Phana is not able to hold his emotions.

 "What about your wounds?"  he asked worried.

 I smiled faintly.  He wanted to kill me a few days ago and see how he worries me now.

 "The external wound has improved. I just need to recover my bones but I'm sure I'll be fine"

 Phana nodded "I'll send some people to you. And stop acting like you don't have money. I gave you enough to live in luxury so use it," he hissed.

 I just smiled faintly and nodded before coming out of his office and then back to my room, Well, Phi Forth's room to be exact.  I breathed a sigh of relief after seeing that Phi Forth had not returned from his office.

 Phi Forth started working again a few days ago.  It makes it easier for me to avoid him.  I will sleep first and wake up first from him.  So far, I'm very good at it.  I honestly don't want to hurt his feelings but just because he makes my heart flutter and makes me happy every time I am with him, it doesn't mean that I have to express everything, especially my work.  Besides, it's better if he doesn't know at all.  If he finds out, he will most likely try to interfere with my business and he can mess things up.  I'd rather be like this without a friend teasing me.

 I sighed

 Speaking of friends, I haven't been able to meet Earth for several weeks.  I was sure that Earth knew that I was injured and that he was in a state of panic right now.  But there is nothing I can do.  I can't go out without giving a reason.  I'm waiting for the right reason to get out of this house and meet Earth.

 "Tomorrow is the right time," I thought.

 "Will you start working?"  Phi Forth asked worried when he saw me wearing my white shirt and black pants.

 "Um ..." I replied while smoothing my hair.  From the mirror I can see Phi Forth looking at me worried.

 "I'll be fine. Having thought, anyone who tries to kill me will think twice about doing it again after his failure. And if he tries again, I will make sure that the man suffers before he dies in my hands."

 My words made Phi Forth's face even more worried.  He walked towards me and hugged me from behind.  

 "Why did you choose the hard way when I could offer you a better way?" He pleaded.
