"Can you believe how much summer assignments I have to do?" A brown-haired girl complained as she opened her laptop.
"Rosé, we've been here for three hours and you haven't written a single thing." Lisa laughed.
"Maybe you shouldn't have taken AP Government then." Jisoo added.
"Guys, come on. You know my parents are strict in these kinds of things. Besides, they think we're here to do summer work." She said, opening up a document.
"I thought we're here to hang out?" Jisoo complained as she petted Kuma, a brown Pomeranian.
"Can we please do something?" Lisa groaned. "We don't even have to leave the house. We can just watch movies or something! Or play a game-" she started suggesting things they could do until Jennie's phone started to ring. They looked over to her who looked like she got no sleep at all yesterday.
"I'm sorry, I have to take this." She said, and she got up and left her room and into the bathroom for privacy.
"Who do you think it is this time?" Lisa laughed.
"It's either her dad, or that stupid boyfriend of hers. I'm telling you I don't like that guy. I don't have a good feeling about him." Rosé crossed her arms.
"Why exactly don't we like Hyojun?" Jisoo asked, genuinely curious, not in a way she was defending him.
"I don't know, there's no real proof. But something tells me he isn't a good guy." Rosé said.
"I'm with Rosé. After their 'dates' Jennie always looked off or sad. Notice how we've never actually formally met him?" Lisa added. "Even when we were in school, he'd just walk up to Jennie and she's immediately go with him, without even saying a word to her or us."
"Maybe he's just shy?" Jisoo said. Jisoo was that person who always wanted to see the best in people, and would believe until there was hard proof otherwise.
"Jisoo, I'm telling you this boy she's dating is up to no good. I doubt he even treats her right! Why does she have to take a call with him and she has to go to the bathroom every time? Is it that private? We're her best friends!" Rosé said. Anyone could tell she doesn't have a liking towards Jennie's boyfriend.
"That's true, she barely talks about him to us. Wouldn't people usually talk about their boyfriends to their friends?" Lisa said, agreeing with Rosé.
"I never had a good feeling about him. Even in school." Rosé said.
"Have you ever confronted Jennie about him?" Jisoo asked.
"I've tried to. Simple things like, 'hey how are you and Hyojun?', but I can never get details out of her. Just one word answers. If she really liked him wouldn't she be a little more excited?" Rosé questioned.
"I guess that is kind of weird. How long have they been dating again?" Jisoo asked.
"Just right after spring break." Lisa responded. Rosé closed her laptop and got up from the bed.
"Where are you going?" Jisoo asked Rosé.
"I'm going to the bathroom." She said, and Jisoo was surprised.
"Isn't Jennie in there?" Jisoo asked. "Oh wait, there's like 3 bathrooms in her house-"
"No, silly. I'm going to find out what's up with her and this Hyojun. Something really doesn't sit right with me with that boy." Rosé said.
"Be careful, don't get caught eavesdropping. You might make her mad if she catches you!" Lisa warned.
"Don't worry, I know what to do." Rosé assures, and she sneakily made her way to the bathroom where she was pretty sure Jennie was in. Because of the size of her house, it was a little far from the room, but it was the closest. She slowly walked in front of the door and listened in.
