Kingsley Shaklebolt sighed and looked around at the huge wall clock in the courtroom. Only one more trial to go before he could go home and get some sleep.
The aftermath of the battle of Hogwarts had proved to be just as demanding and exhausting as the battle itself had been, sometimes he thought even more so than the battle.
Kingsley suddenly to his great surprise, had found himself to be the most voted candidate to bear the weight of responsibilities that come with becoming the Minister for Magic.
It was just the same as last time after the fall of Voldemort. His time now was spent in meetings about rounding off death eaters, holding out trials, and make new polices for peace.
The most difficult was deal with reversing the chaos that Voldemort had made in the ministry and the wizarding world before his fall.
It also a task to recruite people as many people had lost their lives in the war, some were too shaken up, and some were still scared if He Who Must Not Be Named will return again. This did not make his job easy.
He looked around massaging his sore neck while observing the fellow members of the Wizengamot. Some were whispering with their neighbours, some were just like him hopefully looking at the clock, and some were still discussing the punishment accorded to the last accused.
Arthur Weasley who was sitting behind him was busy reviewing the parchment he had in his hand. His secretary Mafilda Hopkins was busy arranging paperwork for the next accused.
Bill Weasley who was peeping into the parchment his father was holding, had now temporarily joined the ministry and had proved to be a great help.
Kingsley looked at the parchment on his desk and signed it confirming the punishment awarded to Runcorn for 10 years in Azkaban.
Kingsley had decided to foresee to every trial as he wanted to make sure that the Death Eaters received proper punishments and the innocent ones who were imperioused or forced were let off.
He wanted second chances given to those he thought deserved it and receive appropriate punishments with a chance at redemption which was proving to be rather difficult.
It was very hard to guess if the accused was actually forced to do what he or she did or it was their own will.
"Hey Kingsley, I just thought I did let you know, Molly is making meat balls today if you would like to stop by" said Arthur Weasley from behind him, handing the paper he was reading to Mafilda.
Although Arthur had accepted promotion it had taken a whole lot of convincing on the Minister's part to leave his Misuse of Muggle Artefact office and join him as Vice Minister.
In the end he had agreed looking at the severity of the situation.
"Meat Balls sound good. I'll stop by" Kingsley smiled which was reciprocated by Arthur.
Kingsley yet again looked at the clock all the more desperate now to head out to a nice meal and sleep later. The door to the courtroom opened and silence filled the courtroom, all the eyes focused on the informer.
"The next accused is ready to be bought in. Shall I bring him in Minister ?" asked the informer.
Kingsley nodded.
" The next accused is the Draco Malfoy, Son of Lucius Malfoy, known to be a Death Eater right in the inner circle of You-Know-Who.".
A boy wearing a black suite, with blonde hair looking a little creastfallen and nervous entered and sat on the chained chair.
