Chapter 15
~ The Dungeons, Severus's Office ~
Lillian paused near the door for a few uncertain seconds. Her arm was half raised, getting ready to knock but her thoughts were delaying her...
Just under a day ago since she saw Severus. Lillian sighed. She disgraced him, she knew that. She brought shame on him, because he genuinely wanted her to be in a Slytherin, like him. Why? Neither of them knew. But Snape did know that he was starting to think of her as being his real daughter... and she was a Gryffindor!
Oh god! What if he...
'No enough Lilly! Enough!' A little voice shouted at her. She's got Potions tomorrow. She best get it over and done with...
"Enter!" his low voice hissed.
When Lillian did enter, it was empty, only Severus was in the room and he was in the midst of writing something down on a piece of yellow parchment.
"Lilly...an." he whispered, staring at her anxious figure walking over.
When she was next to him, she leant on his desk for support by using her hands.
"I don't know where to go... What I'm doing, what to say to you..."
"There is nothing to say Lillian," Snape put down his black quill and crossing his arms, he said, "The hat sorted you, therefore you shall stay where you... where you belong."
"But I don't want to be a Gryffindor. I belong in Slytherin. I know I do. I don't even know anybody in Gryffindor. They don't like me Sev," Lillian took a seat and sat on it, resting her chin within the crook of her arms.
She noticed, quickly, how each shadowed walls were full with shelves that supported glass jars. Inside them were ingredients. The ingredients, Lillian noted, were revolting. An eye, which was rotating around in a pickled jar atop of her head, kept on moving and staring at her...
"Look, you're in school now and within the school region you will refer to me as being Professor Snape because I am your teacher..." there was pause for a moment, until he began saying, in the same emotionless and detested tone as always, "Nobody dislikes you, so far... You've been here a mere day, though I must tell you that in school you learn, you not here to make friends." Snape hissed at her and threw his arm around in the air, laughing at the word 'friends'. "You will learn, but you will NOT learn from your mistakes. I myself will make sure of that."
Lillian took her eyes away from the jars and looked up at him. He sat at his desk inches away. His dark obsidian eyes looked down his hooked nose at her.
"But I am giving you no sympathy whatsoever," Snape shook his head at her. As what a real father would do when catching their child doing something naughty.
Lillian nodded.
"I'm sorry..." she muttered. She never said what she was sorry for, but Snape already knew what she meant. She was sorry because she had 'disappointed' him.
He nodded his head, stiffly, before telling her to leave and get ready for breakfast in the Great Hall.
After he finished talking, he stared deeply into her eyes...
Lillian didn't like his stare. She saw something glint inside his eyes which she didn't like. She saw hatred.
Sure, Lillian knew she was a burden to Severus but did he really... hate her?
"Thanks............ Professor." her voice was quiet.
Closing his heavy black door, she shook her head.
That was weird referring to Severus, or as she called him, Sev, as Professor.
Very weird indeed.

Lillian made her way up a narrow stone stair case, thinking, starting after breakfast; she was really going to live her life like a true witch.
She was going to learn. Succeed.
Hopefully, she added into herself while she admired the moving staircases from above, she'd make some friends.
Hopefully that is.
~ Gryffindor Common Room ~
Lillian was in the middle of thinking about the large staircases which moved, when suddenly a few voices muttered from behind her.
"And who are you?" two male voices asked at the same time.
Lillian looked at the two red-haired boys. They were evident twins, pale faced and had freckles. Yet, she found them oddly attractive...
"She's gotta be new, right?" one of the boys said to his brother.
"Of course she's new!" the other brother replied.
"Or else we would've already seen her."
One of the boys peered his face forward, Lillian moved her head backwards. She needed room to breathe God damn it!
"Get out 'er face George! Stop swallowing all her oxygen you great lump! You look like your catching flies or somethin'!" he pulled at his brother.
"I wasn't in her face. Here, do you want one of these Fuzzing Jelly Babies?"
"They'll make you ill; you'll get out of classes."
"Just don't let old Filch catch you taking them, that wasn't a pleasant afternoon when we got caught was it Fred?"
"No, it wasn't George."
"Uh....." Lillian didn't know what to say. Two of the boys held out a few red jelly babies. Lillian took them from them and rushed them into her pocket under her new robes.
"You gonna tell us your name then or what?"
"Honestly! Will you leave her alone!" a female voice intervened. Lillian turned around and saw a brunette stalk over, and thrashing them aside, she said, "I'm Hermione, Hermione Granger. These two idiots are Fred and George Weasley."
"Nice to meet you all," Lillian smiled at each one individually. Hermione, knowing she had to go up the library because she had an appointment with the librarian Madam Pince, said goodbye and scurried away.
"Thank god she's gone,"
"Thought she'd never leave!" the twins began to rant again in Lillian's face. She couldn't help but smile up at them.
She was about to introduce herself when suddenly the boys attention was drawn to another boy, who looked a lot like them but younger, and they began chasing him out of the common room and down the stairs.
Lillian mentally shook her head... never mind then.
~ Girls Dormitory ~
That night, Lillian spent her second yet proper night in Hogwarts. She slept on a four-poster bed, tossing and turning, sweating all the while.
The hatred inside of Severus's eyes!
The bloody hatred inside of his eyes caused her a whole night of restless sleep... and also the next night too.
Strange... her biological father used to give her the same look each day of total hatred.
Yet when Severus gives her the look, it affects her something most dangerously.
Hm...
