Gabe:
You pull your car into the student parking lot.
"Ahh, I'm so late!," you say in panic, unbuckling your seat belt and leap out of your car. You grab your book bag from your side seat and race towards the high school building.
Out of no where you see Gabe jump out from a car in the rows of cars that are parked. "Y/N!" he says happily.
"AHHH!" you jump back surprised.
"I'm sorry babe, I didn't mean to scare you," he says now embarrassed.
"What are you doing here?" you ask, still walking towards the building quickly. He walks quickly along with you.
"I just wanted to see you before your school day started so we could have some coffee and scones?"
"Gabe, it's not before school; it's 20 minutes AFTER it's already started! I'm so late!" you say getting to the front door. You pull on the door but it doesn't open. You pull again. Nothing. You try the other 2 doors and they don't budge.
"What the heck? Why are they locked?!" you say worried.
Gabe looks at his watch. "What time does school start again?" he asks.
"7:50."
Gabe giggles. "Y/N, it's 5:10..."
You whip your head to him. "What?!" He holds out his wrist to you where his watch is. "It's 5:10, not 7:50, see?" You look at his watch and see that he's right.
"B...but my clock at home..." the realization comes into your head. Your damn old alarm clock that you've been meaning to get rid off, always for some reason resets itself 2 hours ahead of time. "DAMN IT!" you groan.
Gabe laughs. "I'm sorry babe, but hey, at least you're not late."
You exhale, not feeling stressed anymore. "That's true I guess," you say, starting to relax and feeling tired again for waking up so early.
He hands you one of the coffees he's holding. "So, want some breakfast?" he asks grinning.
You take it. "Yes, thank you," you chuckle.
You and Gabe walk over to a spot under a tree and sit down with your coffees. He opens up the bakery bag and hands you a scone and one for himself. You both energize yourselves with the coffee, slowly waking up. You two just talk about life and how beautiful the morning looks; how untouched and quiet it feels.
"We should have breakfast together more often," he says smiling after a while of just staring at the sunrise.
"Definitely ," you say grinning back at him.Dalton:
It's not even 10 a.m. yet and your first class just ended; you're still not fully awake. It's now that point where the excitement of the new school year has worn off and the realization that you're stuck here 5 days a week till June has hit you.
'UUUUUUUUGGGGGGGHHHH' you think to yourself, trudging to your locker to get your binder and books for your next class. You turn your combination slowly, not giving an F anymore. Your locker doesn't open. You groan trying the comb again and it still doesn't open. You do this about 3 times then hitting your locker in frustration and it finally flings open, hitting you in the face.
"OW!" you yelp, falling backwards.
"Baby, are you ok?!" you hear a voice say.
You look up from the ground, still holding your pulsing forehead and see your boyfriend Dalton standing there with one arm behind his back as the other one reaches out to help you.
"I'm fine, it's just been a crummy morning. Wait- why are you here?" you ask.
"I'm sorry you're day isn't going that great so far but I think I have something that'll make you feel better," he says with a small smile.
You look at him confused still. "Ok..." you say slowly.
He brings his other arm out from behind his back and is holding a GIGANTIC MUFFIN! It's seriously the size of a softball.
"Oh my god, Dalton!" you say surprised and smiling.
Dalton grins. "I saw this thing in the window of a bakery as I passed by and thought 'LOOK AT THAT THING! Y/N needs to eat this!'" Dalton always teases you for having such a small mouth.
You giggle, "Thanks Dal. It is truly ENORMOUS!" you say taking it as he hands it to you.
"Well, come on now, I didn't sneak my way into your school to just see you stare at it!" he says grinning mischievously.
You slightly gasp at hearing that he snuck in but then you look back at the large muffin your tiny hands are holding onto. You lean down and try to take the biggest bite you can out of the muffin. You both see that over 2/3rds of the muffin is still there.
Dalton laughs, "That was the tiniest bite ever!"
You shake your head back and forth to him. "No it wasn't!" you mumble with your mouth full of muffin.
Dalton rips off a tiny piece from the muffin and throws it into his mouth. "Uh huh," he says teasingly.
You try not to choke while you're laughing with him. A second later the school bell rings, alerting you for your second class.
"Ah, crap," you say, still chewing, grabbing your binder quickly from your locker. "Gotta go."
"Ok," he says sadly. He leans in and kisses your cheek quickly. "Bye babe. I hope your day gets better."
"It already has," you say, kissing his cheek back.
