It had been a few months since I had properly met Alfie, amd we had hung out many more times since. It seemed like we were always together, and when we were seperated, it felt like a piece of me was missing. How could I have lived without having him here? He was my new best friend (Louise is still the best though), and let's just say we fit together like a puzzle.
Today was Alfie's birthday, and I was meeting up with him, Chai, and Marcus for a small birthday dinner at Nando's. I sent him a text:
Z: Hey just getting ready, need a ride to dinner tonight?
A: That would be great! See you soon.
Z: K, see you in 10.
Once I finished getting dressed and doing my makeup, I hopped in my car and drove off. I had done a natural makeup look, and I was wearing a periwinkle button down shirt dress that was belted at the waist with black ankle boots, and a denim jacket. I reached his flat shortly, and we headed to Nando's.
"Happy birthday!" I screamed as he sat down in my car.
"Way to blow my ear drums out" he said, "but thanks."
"How does it feel to be a whole year older?" I asked in a joking manner.
"Brilliant" he said sarcastically, "I'm an old man now."
"If you're an old man then what am I?" I pondered.
"You're an old lady!" he exclaimed.
Normally I would have yelled at him for calling me that, but I was too busy thinking about us growing old together. I like the idea. A picture of us as old people sitting in rocking chairs together floated into my head. I mean I wanted us to be friends until we were old, not grow old together and be married. Or at least I think that's what I meant.
"Zoe? ZOE?" I heard Alfie say. I had been caught up in my day dream.
"Wh-what is it?" I asked.
"You passed the restaurant" he said laughing.
Oh no! Had I really been that lost in my own thoughts? I found a place to turn around, and we were quickly back on track. I found a spot to park, and we went inside.

Alfie's P.O.V.
I walked behind Zoe, as she led the way into the restaurant. She looked really gorgeous tonight. I liked how she was one of those girls who didn't have to wear a ton of makeup to look good in her own skin. What? Did I just think that? No. She is my best friend. Best friends don't say that their best friends are gorgeous. Stop it Alfie.
As we entered Nando's I saw Marcus and Chai already seated, and headed over to sit with them.
"Hey guys!" I said, "Thanks for coming tonight."
"Yeah, 'course man." they both said, "Happy birthday!"

The meal had been great, and we were just about to leave when it happened.
I started to panick.

So I'm surprised this even has 25 reads. I honestly thought it would get two, even though 25 even isn't that many. But anyway, thanks for reading, if you want to, comment any feedback you have. That would be great. Thank you.
Ok, when I wrote that, it had 25, and now it has 44. I know I get excited over nothing, and that there are stories with thousands of reads, but 44 still seems like a lot to me. So thank you so much for reading!
