Ever since my sister Liz was was tall as our mother's knee high boots she loved collecting toys, old, new, broken or thrifted.
Liz had shelves and cabinets dedicated to pristinely stacked toys one on top of another.
Liz is 8 this week, nobody can shake the gleeful smile from her face, nobody can shake it from my face either, she skips everywhere wearing her birthday like a medal boasting to all her younger friends "I'm gonna be 8! I'm gonna be 8" singing it triumphantly, It was Christmas Day before the 16th of June.

I'm really struggling to find her the perfect birthday present, what do you buy the girl who has everything eh?
I've searched through jumble sales, thrift stores, car-boot sales. Nothing.
Until I foraged through one Antique shop
'Archaic Antiquities'
The walls were old white stone and the floor black slate, the entire shop was filled with biblichor.
I foraged through the piles of bric-a-brac to find a dusty doll with a China face, glass blue eyes and auburn hair down to her elbows and a discoloured white dress.
I bought it and wrapped then I kept it safe in my wardrobe until Liz's birthday but I can't forget the perturbed look on the cashiers face, was he doubting my choice or me in general?
