Newt stood next to your bed, nervousness plunging into his body as he bit his lip. "Newt?" You mumbled, opening your eyes just a smidge, adjusting to the brightness. "Y/N, you shucked your leg up real bad, it could've been worse, god, I'm such a horrible person," Newt started to blame himself.
"Newt, this has nothing to do with you, I'm the cause of all this so please just stop, I don't need to feel even more useless than I already am," You pleaded. "Y/N, you are in no way useless, we're so close to escaping this shucking maze," Newt said. "I broke my leg Newt, how am I suppose to escape this place, huh?" You swallowed the lump in your throat.
"We all will, believe me, we'll get out of this together," Newt stated firmly. "I'm so shucking stupid Newt, shuck everything," You were disgusted by yourself, getting into a bloody accident out of the blue. "Y/N, none of us are mad at you, well, except for Gally, but trust me on this, we won't leave you, we'll be out of here soon," Newt said, sitting down next to your bed.
"I don't know Newt, they'll look at me differently, I...things will start to change," You started to go on. "Change? Nothing's going to change, Y/N," Newt shook his head. "It's just a broken leg, it'll be fine, everything will be alright," Newt tried to calmly tell you.
"No Newt! It's not going to be alright, I just ruined the whole thing!" You felt Newt envelope you into a hug, hushing you. "Y/N, it just happened. It wasn't on purpose," Newt said, running his fingers through your hair. Sobs continued to escape as you never wanted to let go of Newt.
"I love you Y/N, believe me," Newt whispered, pulling you closer. "I'll love you, broken leg and all," He continued. "I'll still fall in love with you every single day," Newt brushed strands of hair away from your face as he lifted your chin up, gently pressing his lips against yours.
Newt broke the kiss as he casually rested his hand on yours. "I love you Y/N and we'll get out of here together," Newt placed a small kiss on your forehead, smiling at you.
"I love you too, Newt," You mumbled, whilst reaching out to hug him once again.
