For Melxinx
Minho stood rooted to the ground, his arms folded across his chest. His lips parted as though he wanted to say something but nothing came out. He smiled tensely towards Melaina before turning away. He sighed. It was silent, too silent. Finally, he spoke.
“We need to talk,” Melaina lifted her head up to look at him. She seemed astonished. “About us, me and you, our relationship, I don’t think it’s working out right now,” Minho said slowly.
Melaina placed a hand on his rising chest, knowing that his breaths were shaky and uneven. Minho glanced down, before removing her hand from his chest, shaking his head.
“It’s not that I dislike you or I don’t think we’re compatible but I don’t even know myself anymore. It’s like I’m someone else and I don’t like that person. We used to have a smooth relationship but right now, I think its best we stop this and revisit it again in the future. Our relationship is too distant, we’re drifting apart. Can’t you tell?”
Minho’s eyes fell to the ground. Melaina didn’t say anything. She was far too shocked to react, she didn’t want to end it. “No, we have to try,” Melaina stated, only to have Minho shake his head.
“Look, Melaina, I want the best for us both and this is what we need to do to build a healthier relationship. We need some time alone, to rethink all of this, to start making wise decisions,” Minho brought her knuckles to his lips, kissing them gently.
“I’m sorry,” He murmured. “Minho, no, stop. We need to hold on, it’s our relationship. I don’t know how we’re going to do it but we’ll find a solution, please,” Melaina pleaded.
“If you love me enough, you’ll do this, for the sake of us,” He drawled. “If what we had was love, you’d hold on. You’d try, you will do anything,” Melaina’s voice cracked at this point.
She kissed the corner of his mouth, Minho tilting his head to catch her lips. Falling back into each other’s arms, grasping onto each other. For just one last time.
< two months later >
Two months had passed of avoiding Minho, trying to forget him, trying to forget the way he kissed with his jaw and bottom lip, how he held her tight. Melaina looked up to face Minho, who took her hands into his, gripping onto them tightly as if he was afraid to let go. Once again.
She let her face fall back into his shoulder. It was still him. The way his hand laid on her lower back, his lips on her hair, his arm secured around her waist, the smell of mint and his features. Just slightly tired.
“I never stopped loving you,” He whispered. Melaina nodded her head. “I never really did,” He traced his thumb along her cheek. “I only fell in love with you even more,” Melaina’s breath hitched as he said that.
His lips laid against hers. It felt almost perfect. Things felt normal once again. The kiss lasted for a few more seconds, although instead it seemed like it’d last forever.
It did.

I’ll try my best to get the requests done and I just wanna say thank you for requesting, it means a lot to me and I hope I will not disappoint you. This was inspired by Ariana Grande's Best Mistake, to be honest so yeah. I hope you like it, Mel! Sorry if it's a little too short.
