It was the day of the 10th anniversary for Anima City and I was getting ready with my friend Kyouko. We were in her bedroom jamming out to some artist that I had never heard of before, but it had a thumping beat that kept in time with my racing heart.
"Hey are you ready to go!" we yelled out of tune as we danced around the room. As we continued to dance there was a knock at our door, Kyouko scurried over to the radio and turned down the music before opening the red door.
"Hey mom." She greeted as her mother leaned against the door frame and smiled wide at the two of us.
"I see the two of you are having fun!" she chuckled as her smiled brightened her face. "Although if you have to much fun here, you two will be to tired to have fun at the celebration." She tilted her head forwards and peered at us. We both laughed.
"Yeah we know, we're practically ready anyways." Kyouko said as she waved a dismissive hand while snickering.
"Alright, then let's get ready to go." Ms. Amari said as she turned around closing the door behind her as she left the room. As soon as the door shut the two of us squealed in excitement.
The Amari family moved to Anima city only 2 years ago, while I moved only 2 months ago. This was my first time going to the city's celebration and from what I knew we were able to express ourselves in our animal form. Usually when in our animal form that's a threat, I learned that the hard way when I came into the city. I was so excited to see the different kinds of animals that have made it to Anima City.
I myself was a Gray Wolf. My canines even in human form were sharp.
"Okay, okay," Kyouko said as she moved towards the door, "we should get going or we'll end up missing the celebration!" She opened her door and we both went downstairs to where Ms. Amari stood waiting for us.
"To the car girls." Her mom said as she opened the door for us. "So what will you two be doing?" She questioned as we hopped into her car and drove off to town square.
"Food." Said Kyouko as she gave me a knowing smile. Food was her favorite by far, if there was a party, celebration or even the speculation that there was food involved in anything she would be there in a heartbeat. I guess that was the thing with raccoons. Her parents were the same, but they weren't as obsessed as Kyouko was.
"How about you RIn?" Mrs. Amari asked as she peered through the rearview mirror and looked at me.
"Well, Grey said he was gonna be there so I thought that I would meet up with him and have the three of us hangout while we're there." I replied, Grey was Red Fox, he was also the one who helped me find a place to stay when I received my residence form from the mayor. Since then he's been a really great friend.
"Well I hope the three of you have a great time!" She cooed as she put the car into park and looked back at us. She smiled and the two of us hopped out of the car.
"Hurry up!" I said to Kyouko as we both ran into the crowd. The celebration had already begun.
