The Truth

We had been driving for 2 hours and it was getting late. Lucas and Ruth were in the front seats talking about boys. Turns out, lucas is gay. Me and Rio sat in the seats against the sides of the van. We were opposite eachother. Rio was mainly on his phone and I lay down across the seats

Molly : "are we allowed to know where we're going now?"

Rio : "I'll tell you when I'm ready"

Molly : "when will that be, when we're there?"

Ruth : "can we at least know how far it is, I need the toilet"

Lucas : "we also need petrol"

Rio : "stop at the next gas station and we can get something to eat. We're over an hour away from where we're going. I'll drive next and lucas, you can rest"

Molly : "sounds good to me"

We continued driving for another 20 minutes until we found a gas station. Ruth and lucas got out the car. Ruth went into the shop and straight into the toilets and lucas went in to get some food.

Rio : "you ok?"

Molly : "just a little confused"

Rio : "what about?"

Molly : "where we're going, why were going and why all of these things have happened?"

He took a deep breath and we both sat on the floor opposite eachother.

Rio : "I know you want to know but-"

Molly : (interrupts) "were a four now, right?"

Rio : "yeah?"

Molly : "and were all sticking together, correct"

Rio : "correct?"

Molly : "so no matter how bad it is, we're in this together and we're not going to turn back"

For the first time ever, he actually listened to what I had to say! A smile grew across his face and I smiled back. Lucas came back with a load of sandwiches, crisps, chocolate and all different types of sweets. He put the bags on the van floor and climbed in. He sat on the floor next to Rio.

Rio : "I'm going to fill up the van and go to the toilet. I'll be a couple of minutes"

He got up and got out the van. He shut the van door and me and lucas started going through the bags.

Molly : "why does he go from nice to mean? I don't get it"

Lucas : "we've been friends since we were 3 years old. Trust me, he's always been this wierd"

We both laughed

Molly : "so far, the creepiest thing he's done is kill people"

Lucas : "well, you should hear some of the other things he's done. It's a whole nother level!"

Molly : "omg, can you tell me some"

Lucas : "100% yes!"

We both giggled and I moved closer to him. We both had big smiles on our faces

Lucas : "ok, you ready to hear some dark shit?"

Molly : "yes definitely"

Lucas : "this one time, this guy stabbed his brother in the arm so badly he had to go hospital for stitches. You know what Rio did?!"

Molly : "what?"

Lucas : "he waited for the guy to leave his house then, Rio went in, killed his wife and..."
