I took a few steps toward Grizz until we were two feet apart. We made eye contact. "You don't have to keep protecting me," my voice came out shaky and in a quiet whisper. All I wanted to do was to hug him and have him tell me everything was going to be okay, but I couldn't do that to either of us. His voice came out in a quiet tone and he said exactly what I'd expect him to. "Don't worry about it. I just can't listen to them say those things about yo-" I cut him off and looked at him in confusion. "Why? After everything I have done, you sti-" I said as I looked away from him he cut me off. "Because, I don't thing you really feel that way about us and I know something is going on with you." I sighed and glanced at him to see him staring at me. "It is me. Now stay away from me and stop protecting me" I said as I walked away. I joined Greg and he wrapped his arm around my shoulders. "What did he want?" he asked as we walked toward Will and Allie. I shrugged my shoulders and glanced back. Grizz was still watching us walk away and I said "he doesn't believe us. He knows something's up and we need to get him off the scent."

Greg chuckled and I felt him squeeze my shoulder. "Or you could let him be. I knew he was the smart one of the two of you" he said as I pushed him away from me. "I'LL SHOW YOU SMART" I yelled at him as I slapped his arm. Allie and Will started laughing at us. "What's going on with you two?" Allie questioned with a raised eyebrow. "Nothing just a loud mouth cousin running his mouth" I said as the three of them laughed. They started chattering as I looked around at all the small groups of teens that were starting to drink. Grizz was no longer where I saw him last and I couldn't see him amongst the crowd. My heart still wanted him, but my head was telling me otherwise. I looked back to the small group I was in. Will passed Allie and Greg cups, filled probably with beer. "Cleo would you like a drink?" Allie asked me and I immediately shook my head. "No I'm good thanks!" I responded. 'Here we go' I thought with a silent chuckle.

We had spent at least half an hour standing in the dark. Everyone was pretty buzzed already and I was feeling pretty cold. I was brought out of my thoughts when I heard Jason yell "the fucking church is open!" I looked to the doors of the church to see Clark already inside and Jason standing in front of the doors holding up a half empty six pack of beer. All the teens started running into the church and I felt my heart sink. Greg automatically pulled me towards the church by my hand. We entered the church to be overwhelmed by the blaring music and alcohol being thrown around. I felt instantly guilty because I knew this building was very important to Helena, and she was going to be furious with how ti was being disrespected. Looking around, I saw everyone was having a good time. This was the first time that I had been at a party all year long and I was way more nervous than I should have been. Greg looked at me with a disappointed facial expression. I smiled at him and said "go have fun. I'll be over there." I pushed him toward the group of dancing teens and he hesitantly went.

I sat down in one of the empty pews while placing my backpack down at my feet. I watched everyone around me because I have always found it fascinating to watch others, to see how they interact with each other. I was very content with myself until I saw Harry and a random girl get sprayed with alcohol. He started to pat at her chest like a desperate dog and I pursed my lips at the sight. Kelly walked past me and she went straight up to him. She said something to him clearly upset and pissed off before turning around. She walked out with anger and pain in her eyes. Harry ran after her like a lost puppy. I felt someone slide into the seat beside me. To my surprise it was Allie. "What may I do for you, Ms Pressman?" I said to her with a smile.

She giggled uncontrollably and wrapped an arm around my shoulder. "I just wanted to get your advice on something" she slurred her words. 'She must be drunk' I thought to myself with a laugh. "My advice?" I asked, raising an eyebrow at the blonde girl. She giggled at me and hiccuped as she said "I really like Will. Like like him, and seeing as you feel the same way about Griz-" I cut her off and turned to face her causing her arm to fall off my shoulder. "I do not like Grizz. Not even as a friend." She shook her head. "No I think you do but you're scared to tell him." I laughed a little too loudly making a few people around us look in our direction. "No. You're wrong, and I think if you really like Will as much as you think you do then you have two options. Let him go be with someone else or tell him ow you feel and see what happens." I imparted my wisdom and she looked at me blankly. "YOU'RE RIGHT!" she yelled and abruptly stood up. "I need to kiss him" she said, wobbling away as I called after her. "Allie that's not what I said," but she had already disappeared into the crowd. I sighed and put my face in my palm of my right hand.
