She remembers, oh god. She remembers. I swallow hard as we untangle ourselves from our embrace. I smile at her and wipe my tears away. Trying to be sincere. She smiles back and puts her arms through mine. I help her hobble out of the bathroom.

Once we're out of the bathroom, Joey, Danny and Teddy get a wheelchair and wheel her to their car. I stay back and walk with the band. But I don't talk. I don't listen, I can't. My attention is stuck in the past. Burning, brown eyes. We were having a sleepover at Nixx's house, just her and I. Her dad was in Albany, on a date. He wouldn't be home for hours. Teddy and Danny were at a football game in Buffalo.

There came a knock on the door and we thought it was the pizza. In came this big man, I remembered meeting him one other time. His name was Ian. I looked to Nixx, she had gone ash white. He knocked me to the side and went straight for Nixx. I tried to stop him and he knocked me into a wall, I went unconscious. When I came to, he was forcing himself into an unconscious, bloody mess of a girl, I realized it was Phoenixx and freaked out. He pounded on me. Told me to keep quiet and I'd live. He left, after another hour of agonizing torture. He raped Phoenixx atleast twice that night. I didn't tell her until the next morning when she was trying to cover her bruises. She did a good job, too. I asked her to cover mine too. It was our little secret. Neither of us wanted to die and we weren't stupid either. We weren't going to cross Ian. He never touched me again, but his cold eyes, burned me. It was like freezerburn.
