I come out from the bedroom to get a drink of water. Huening Kai is sitting on the couch on his phone.
"What are you doing?" I sit down next to him
"Nothing" he says.
I look over to his screen and see a puppy video.
"That's so cute!" I smile.
"Yeah.."
We sit awkwardly next to each other. I want to start a conversation but I don't know what to say.
Eventually he gets up and leaves to the other room.
I never see him smile anymore.
