It's 2AM and I miss him.
Where else could a lonely heart like me go this late at night? The only thing open is the small diner where Kai and I had our first date.
The light above me is flickering and the waitress looks like she wants to die.
I ordered a chocolate milk but it set in front of me un touched.
I don't see the curly haired boy enter. It wasn't until he was sat across from me that I realized he was here.
Kai looks sad, but he no longer looks angry or fucked up.
Is he sad because he's sober? Or is he sad because he loves me?
"Hey" He says
"Hey yourself" my throat feels like sandpaper when I speak.
It's funny, when I left him I felt nothing but anger, but now I don't feel any of that. I just miss him.
"I don't know why I treated you like that" He looks ashamed.
"I don't know why either.." Kai wipes his eyes before any tears have a chance of leaving.
"So do you want me to beg?"
"Huh?"
"I'll get on my hands and knees and beg- I'll even fucking bark-"
"Kai what are you taking about?"
"I'm talking about what does it take for me to have you back?"
The light above us is flickering. the waitress looks like she wants to die, and I feel hopeless.
"I don't know why you treated me like that..." like a dog, I forgive my person easily "...but I just want you in my life"
Kai laughs "don't say you don't care, it sounds fucked up"
"It's fucked up because it's true" it's suddenly cold in the diner.
"I'll get better" Kai says seriously "I have to"
He sounds as hopeless as I feel
But I love him so much
And that's enough.
