Chapter 17 - Where?

Emily's POV

~flashback~

"Damn it Luke, we're in trouble aren't we?" I groaned, slumping down.

"Probably." He said.

Once we got to the principals office, I saw three people and immediately I knew I was in trouble. I saw Liz, who was Luke's mum and my parents, Serena Tanner and Mitchell Preston.

"Hi.." I said waving to them, and looked across the desk to the principal Ralph Hughes, beginning to wonder what my consequences would be.

"Take a seat Miss Preston, Mister Hemmings." Said Mr Hughes.

I nodded, and took a seat, next to my mum. While Luke sat next to Liz who was sat next to, my freaking dad. NOW my dad will be really protective, knowing that I've been locked in the school with a boy all night..

"So, you've been locked in the school all night?" The principal asked, as our parents looked at both Luke and me.

"Uhm.. Yes.." I said softy, while Luke nodded.

"Ok, well did you know that the school closes at 4:30 pm?"

"No.." Both Luke and I said in sync. There was a long silence. Too long for my liking. I was so anxious to find out what was going on.

"What's going to happen to us?" I asked.

"I'm sorry to say... You're both going to jail."

"What?!" Our parents cried in shock.

Jail?! Now that's too harsh! All we did is get trapped in a school!?

The principal laughed a husky laugh that confused me. "I was just joking!" His dark humour failed to make us laugh, as my dad sort of gave him a death stare.

"... Your not going to be punished, because it was not your fault, unless you clearly knew the school closes at 4:30 prime meridian. Though next time you will get punished so you should be smart about it." He replied. "Also Susan didn't like you eating her lasagna, and Tanya didn't like that her pizza mysteriously disappeared.."

"Susan? Tanya?" Luke questioned.

"The lunch ladies." Mr Hughes replied as Luke and I both made a o shape with our mouths.

"We were.. Hungry." I answered. "We had no dinner... Or breakfast."

"Also let's not forget about how angry Denice was about her pop tart being eaten."

"Oops." Luke fake smiled, nervous obviously.

"You were locked in a school all night with that.. GUY?!" My father shouted, enraged because of this Gollum disorder with me. "Did he DO anything to you?!"

"No!" I shouted.

"Why'd you not come out of the school when it ended?!"

"I was just having fun! Just because I'm not a child, doesn't mean I can't have fun! I'm a teenager!" I replied, but he was oblivious and ignoring me, because he didn't even care about what I had to say in the matter as long as he was right.

"So he's not your boyfriend?!"

"No, he's not! He's just a friend! The only friend I've ever had! He helped me find new friends and stop my shyness!" I defended. "He's not, and I've told you this a thousand times!"

"Pfft. Sure he did!" Dad shouted back. "And why do you keep defending him!?"

"Mitchell, enough. Emily doesn't need this." My mum interrupted walking in the room, and standing right in front of dad.
