As they got out of the Escalade behind The Hairy Dog, Amdis turned to Gemma with a brow lifted in question.

"Are you sure that you can do this? I can go in alone if you like."

Gemma nodded as she lit a cigarette. She smirked and blew smoke out into the evening air. "I'm good, but I still think you should have left this shit for the boys to handle. Jax is going to be pissed."

Amdis shrugged as she walked beside Gemma to the metal door at the back of the bar. "Well, he isn't Ariel's man yet, so until then, I'll do the heavy lifting." She put a hand on Gemma's arm to stop her. "Look, I'm serious. Tell me now if you don't have the stomach for revenge."

"What exactly do you have planned?"

Amdis grinned and winked. "He'll live to see another day. Now, whether he'll think that's a good thing or not remains to be seen." She shrugged. "Not much really. Certainly not what the bastard deserves."

She opened the door easily, grinning when she thanked Darby for investing in cheap locks. As they walked down the hall to the main room of the bar, she noted with pleasure how quiet it was. That meant that there would be very little opposition to what she had planned. Although she could compel several people at a time, it was more difficult in large groups.

When they cleared the hallway, she put a hand out, gently pushing Gemma behind her. The first person she saw was a bald man in a dirty white wife beater and sagging jeans flirting with a woman who looked like she was under the influence of some illegal substance.

She shook her head as she thought that this man was the one that had tried to kill Ariel. Honestly, if she hadn't been an enhanced version of herself, he would have been successful. Amdis knew with utter clarity that the only thing that was keeping him alive was that he hadn't violated Ariel. If that had been the case, no amount of begging and pleading would have swayed Amdis from taking his life.

She knew the second that she had his attention because he smiled and nodded to her then Gemma. "Evening, ladies. Gemma, Clay know that you're out slumming?"

She heard Gemma mutter under her breath as she smiled prettily at Ernest Darby. "Now, why would we want to involve Clay Morrow in our fun?" She pouted, getting his full attention. "If he knew, then you wouldn't have a chance to buy us a drink. You do want to buy us a drink, don't you?"

Darby nodded as he stood up, completely forgetting about the woman he had been with. "I certainly do."

Amdis smiled and wrapped her hand around his arm and fluttered her lashes at him. "Why don't we take this party somewhere private? Your office perhaps?"

Darby blinked a couple of times before nodding slowly and walking toward the office. They entered and Darby walked over to a liquor cabinet in the corner as Gemma shut and locked the office door. Amdis chuckled as she watched him pour from a bottle of Jameson.

"Oh, Gemma, we must be special if he's breaking out the expensive stuff."

She heard Gemma chuckle as Darby smiled and nodded. "Well, I think this is a special occasion. Now, I don't know you, but I've tried to get Gemma alone for years now."

Amdis grinned as she accepted the glass from him before sitting down beside him on the couch. "Well, then this is a special occasion." She took a sip of the whiskey before patting him on the knee. "Well, darling, you may not know me but I certainly know who you are. Your reputation precedes you."

Darby grinned at her. "Is that right?"

Amdis smiled slyly as she nodded. "Oh yes. You and I have a mutual friend. Ariel Fleming?"

Darby rolled his eyes and cursed under his breath. "Shit. I should have known this was too good to be true. If you're friends with that crazy bitch... "

Before he could blink, Amdis was straddling his lap and had a knife to his neck. "Be very careful what you call my family, Ernest darling. I'd hate to let this knife slip too soon." She leaned in and smiled into his frightened eyes. "Now then. Why don't I come to why we're here?" When Darby nodded, so did Amdis. "You hurt my sister. No, you hurt two of my sisters. One with your words and one with your fists and I take that very seriously." She ran the knife down the side of his face, smiling at the thin red line that appeared in its absence. "Do you know anything about vampires, darling?"

Darby cast frightened eyes toward Gemma before coming back to Amdis. He swallowed hard as he noticed that her eyes seemed to be glowing red in the dim light of the office. "I... I know that they're fake."

Amdis chuckled and she saw Gemma shiver out of the corner of her eye. "You're so cute, Ernest. Well, I'm here to prove to you that we are very real." She leaned in even closer and licked a line up his throat, humming with satisfaction when she tasted the salty tang of sweat and fear on his skin. "Gemma, did you know that a vampire can tell if someone is good or evil just from the taste of their blood?"

Never breaking eye contact with Ernest, she heard Gemma clear her throat. "Uhhh... no. No, I didn't know that."

Amdis sighed as she smiled at Ernest, feeling him start to shake under her. "It's true. The eviler someone is, the sweeter their blood." She gently nipped at the skin over Darby's carotid, giggling when she heard a whimper come from his lips. "Don't even get me started on how satisfying it is to bleed someone dry." She moaned as the smell of Ernest's blood seeping from the scratch on his face flooded her senses. "It's been so long since I had a human. I do miss it so." She turned her gaze to Gemma and nodded toward the door. "Why don't you wait for me outside?"

Gemma nodded and stood up, making her way to the door. When she had walked out and shut it behind herself, Amdis turned back to a silently weeping Ernest Darby. "This is an intimate experience, darling. Don't you agree?"

An hour later, Amdis walked out into the back alley, finding Gemma pacing and smoking. She grinned and wiped her mouth when Gemma stopped in front of her.

"Are you okay? I almost called Unser."

Amdis nodded as she took the cigarette from Gemma and took a long drag from it. "Yes, I'm fine. There was no need to call anyone." When Gemma lifted a brow, Amdis sighed and rolled her eyes. "Yes, he's fine. Or he will be." She snickered as they started walking toward the street. "I guarantee that he won't hurt another woman." She linked an arm through Gemma's and leaned in to kiss her on the cheek. "I need a drink."
