MULTIVERSE 40 - MUST HAVE BEEN THE WIND

Inko, Rei, Eri, and Kota are flashed out of the room, causing the other participants of the room to get on edge. Deku frowns, not liking how many sad universes there are of him, or just surrounding him, and how these could have ended up being him.

Kacchan pinches his ankle again, knowing his train of thoughts quite quickly, shaking his head as he makes Deku focus on the words on the screen, 'MULTIVERSE 40: LOADED.'

Katsuki is seen sitting on a couch in an apartment living room, before flinching slightly as he looks up confused. His voice is heard as he goes through the motions of this universe. "I heard a glass shatter on the wall in the apartment above mine. At first, I thought that I was dreamin', but then I heard the voice of a girl. And it sounded like she'd been cryin'."

Deku flinches as well, already not liking where this universe is going, but appreciating the warmth seeping through him from Shoto's side, as well as Kacchan's hand on his ankle.

"Now I'm too worried to be sleepin'. So I took the elevator to the second floor. Walked down the hall and then I knocked upon her door." The screen shows Katsuki sighing as he leaves the comfort of his new apartment, and heads up to where he heard the noises.

His look of annoyance quickly turns to worry and concern over the look of the small and timid green-haired girl in front of him. "She opened up and I asked about the things I've been hearing. She said, 'I think your ears are playing tricks on you', sweater zipped up to her chin."

Mitsuki flinched, almost frightening as she gained a look of dread on her face, seeing the similarities between this Izuku, and a younger Inko.

"'Thanks for caring, sir, that's nice of you, but I have to go back in. Wish I could tell you about the noise, but I didn't hear a thing.'" Katsuki frowns as he nods at her response, taking it as it is, as he can't do anything without proof, so he heads back downstairs as the lyrics continue. "She said, 'It must have been the wind, must have been the wind. Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind.' She said, 'It must have been the wind, must have been the wind. Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind.'"

Katsuki is trying his best not to growl at his other self for being such a dunce-face, and not helping out the obviously abused girl in front of him. He grips Deku's ankle a little tighter as if to show his support, and that it won't always be like that.

"So I was layin' on the floor of my room, cold concrete on my back. No, I just couldn't shake the feeling. I didn't want to intrude 'cause I knew that I didn't have all the facts, but I couldn't bear the thought of leavin' her." Katsuki's voice continues as it showed a slight time skip, as it allows the watchers to see him heading back up to the second floor, his concern overtaking his body.

"So I took the elevator to the second floor, walked down the hall, and then I knocked upon her door. She opened up and I asked about the things I've been hearing. She said, 'I think your ears are playing tricks on you.' Sweater zipped up to her chin."

Mitsuki is holding a hand to her mouth, trying not to let anything slip about the past, but grips Masaru's hand tightly while trying to keep her grasp on her sanity.

"'Thanks for caring, sir, that's nice of you, but I have to go back in. Wish I could tell you about the noise, but I didn't hear a thing.'" Katsuki sighs nodding, as he walks away from the door, the lyrics continuing as he does so. "She said, 'It must have been the wind, must have been the wind. Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind.' She said, 'It must have been the wind, must have been the wind. Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind.'"

Deku is still frowning as he silently watches the screen, nibbling on his bottom lip and wondering how his other, female self, got to the point where she allowed herself to be put in this situation.

Katsuki sighs, laying on his couch, frowning at the roof, as the lyrics continue, "Aim my boombox at the roof, I'm playing 'Lean on Me'. Just so that she knows that she can lean on me, and when she hears the words, I hope she knows she'll be okay. Aim my boombox at the roof, I'm playing 'Lean on Me'. Just so that she knows that she can lean on me. And when she hears the words, I know exactly what I'll say."

Deku is seen curled up in a corner of her apartment's living room, a dark figure standing on the opposite side of the room as the lyrics continue, floating up and into Deku's ears. "Promise I'm not playing tricks on you, you're always welcome to come in. You could stay here for an hour or two if you ever need a friend. We can talk about the noise when you're ready, but 'til then, I'll say, 'It must have been the wind, must have been the wind. Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind.' I'll say, 'It must have been the wind, must have been the wind. Must have been the wind, it must have been the wind.'"

All Might sighs softly, arms crossed, as he realizes truly how much trouble his successor is in, in most of the multiverses. Aizawa is frowning, wondering how many more universes are going to end up almost exactly like this one.

Deku sighs quietly, thankful that this universe is over while wondering about the future ones. Shoto, holds Deku close to his chest while glancing over at Katsuki, both of them wondering the same thing, 'Is there any way to keep him out of trouble?'

'MULTIVERSE 41: LOADING.'
