Faye's POVIt wasn't that Faye was boring. Once upon a time she had loved partying, out every weekend with Lacey and Gracie, even as young as fourteen they were at parties, drinking and living their lives.
They were lucky enough that Lacey's older brother had parties and allowed the girls to come, although he spent most of the time stressing about how much they were drinking or about the boys they were talking too.
But that all stopped suddenly.
"You would look amazing in this dress, Gracie" Faye spoke to the open room, her phone on speaker left on her bed side cabinet.
"Actually, I think it might be yours?" She continued, holding up the black lace dress to her body whilst looking in the mirror. She checked the tag, seeing an embroidered star on it, smiling, "yeah, yours"
"Wear it" she heard, Faye spun around seeing Lacey stood at her open door, "she'd want you to wear it, you look hot in it" she smiled lightly, walking to the table and hanging up the voicemail call.
"Yeah...I will" she sighed, grabbing matching underwear and walking to her bathroom, smiling as Lacey jumped onto her bed.
"God," Lacey started, "I can't remember the last time we went to a party"
"Yeah, maybe that time Lewis fell off the roof" she laughed at the memory, despite his sometimes quiet nature the split haired boy always seemed to get himself into the weirdest scenarios.
"Or when he brought home a chicken" Lacey giggled loudly, remembering the time the girls were having a sleep over and were woken up by Lewis banging on the window, a chicken under his arm.
"Or-" Faye started, unlocking the bathroom and walking out.
"Yeah, okay!" Lewis laughed walking into the room, "we get it, sometimes I get a bit crazy" the girls giggling along with him.
"'Sometimes'?"Lacey questioned.
"'A little'?" Faye said at the same time, they made eye contact laughing as Lewis sighed.
"Oh, come on you know I make every party better" he held up his arms as he spun, falling backwards onto the bed.
"Yeah...sure" Faye laughed, walking to her mirror to start her hair, already having done her simple makeup before she got dressed.
Music could already be heard from the house next door, so they knew the party had started, however they didn't want to go too early so were taking their time. That and Faye was a bit nervous, so was going as slow as she could.
Lacey wore a dress much like Fayes but was red with glitter, matching her to the red shirt Lewis wore. Yes, they were that matching couple.
"Come on then, let's get drunk" Lewis smirked, making him way downstairs and grabbing a few bottles, he had a very convincing fake ID that had served him well since he was 15 so it was easy for him to get them alcohol, thankfully.
As soon as they entered Faye decided that this party was not for her, sure she loved to drink and have fun but when it was with a house full of people she didn't know, it changed things.
Lewis had left when he saw some boys messing about, deciding to join them and make some new friends, where as Lacey recognised some people from TikTok and decided to talk to them. Despite her best friend having a considerable following on the app, Faye had never downloaded TikTok and therefore had no clue who any of them were.
"Hey!" A voice shouted over the music, startling the girl, she turned to see a tall boy with dark hair smiling down at her, "i'm Jaden"
"Faye" she smiled, taking a sip from her drink.
"I've never seen you round here before" he told her.
"I've just moved here, we live next door" she explained, looking around the room before back at the smiling boy.
"Oh, cool. I live here, so I guess we'll see each other a lot" that sentence could have been creepy, however the cheesy smile he kept on his face all the way through put her at ease.
"So you're part of those boys?" She asked, not quite remembering their actual name.
"Yeah" he laughed, "those boys" he added, nodding as she laughed too.
"Sorry," he said after a few minutes of silence, "this might sound weird, but I recognise you from somewhere..." he tried to explain, biting his lip as if he was unsure.
"I do youtube, that might be it" she suggested, watching his eyes light up.
"Of course! You're Faye Harrison, I used to see your ghost hunting everywhere" he told her, more excited that he had figured it out than to actually meet her, but she wasn't complaining.
"Yep, that's me"
"Well, miss ghost queen, it is very nice to meet you" Faye giggled as she shook his hand.
Maybe the night wouldn't be as bad as she thought.
