~fourteen~

Faye's Pov

"No" Bryce replied sharply, shaking his head and crossing his arms.

"What? Why"

"No!" He repeated, acting like a child.

"You don't even know what it is" Faye told him.

" 'individual investigation' i'm pretty sure I can figure it out" he replied, letting out a sharp breath.

"Good, because you're going first" she smiled sweetly, making Josh and Jaden laugh, all three of them receiving a death glare from Bryce.

"Why do I have to go first?" Bryce whined as Faye picked up the body cam, trying to get it over his head.

"Because you're our canary down the mine" she told him, laughing at his confused face, "if you die we know to get out, quick"

"Oh fuck off" he shook his head, "i'm not going" Josh stood up from his seat, clapping his hand down on Bryces shoulder, shaking him slightly.

"Don't be a pussy, buddy" Faye laughed under her breath, looking up as she made eye contact with Josh, holding it for a second as she kept trying to fix Bryces camera.

"Well, I don't see you rushing to explore a haunted house on your own" he grumbled, scuffing the floor with his feet as he kicked the ground like a young child.

"Why don't we just go in twos?" Jaden suggested, standing up too.

"You scared?" Josh raised an eyebrow teasingly, earning a punch in the shoulder.

"No, I just know Bryce will be boring if he goes alone" Faye shrugged, not really caring how many went at a time as long as she got footage.

"Fine, here take this" she passed Jaden the other body cam.

"No, you guys go first" Bryce stated, obviously not up for decision, pulling off the camera and shoving it into Faye's arms.

"Fine, we're not scared" she smirked, looking over to Josh who laughed, taking Jaden's camera.

"But have fun up here on your own" Josh called back as they walked away, looking back just in time to see Bryce's face drop.

"How long are we doing this for?" Josh asked Faye as they walked down the hallway and into a door at the bottom.

"Ten minutes" she told him, shining the flashlight around the room, seeing another face on the wall, "I made Jaden time it" he nodded.

"Piece of cake" he whispered, but there was a light twang to his voice, like he was scared but trying to hide it.

"Yep" she replied sarcastically, stepping further into the room, the floor creaking slightly.

The two walked around in the room, admiring the abandoned furniture; turned over chairs and broken wardrobes.

Faye stepped back as she noticed how close she had gotten to the molded wall, gulping as she shone a light at it, admiring the face.

"Creepy"

She jumped, startled by his voice, turning around to see Josh a lot closer than he was before, staring down at her.

Faye looked up, only now noticing the closeness of them, their toes touching, his hand on her waist.

"Yeah, I know" she agreed, not taking her eyes off of him.

They stayed silent for a few seconds, neither realising their bodies getting closer, his head leaning down as she pushed up onto her toes, her hand resting on his chest for stability.

Faye could feel his soft, hot breaths hitting her lip as he stopped right before they met.

She leaned closer, their lips about to meet.

"Time!" They head Bryce shout as the timer went off, breaking them both out of their trance, pulling away from each other.

Faye's eyes widened as she realised what happened, turning around quickly, making her way out the door and back up the hallway.

"How did it go?" Bryce asked, seeing her coming up and Josh a few feet after.

"Good..." her voice was hoarse before you coughed, repeating her self, "yeah good, creepy, but good" she teased him again seeing him roll his eyes.

"Our turn" Jaden smiled, throwing his arm over Bryces shoulder, who had the opposite expression, shrugging off his arm with a scowl.

"Fine" he growled, taking the body camera from Fayes outstretched arm as Jaden did the same with Josh's. 

"It's not that bad, just ten minutes" she told Bryce as she tightened his body cam for him, patting his back to comfort him.

"Sure, whatever" he took out his flashlight, turning it on before pushing Jaden down the hall first.

"Have fun" Josh waved teasingly, a bright smile on his face as the two boys disappeared into the dark hallway.

"Fuck you, Josh" Jadens voice came back, making the two laugh.

"Put the timer for fifteen minutes" Josh laughed at his suggestion, looking for another way to annoy Bryce.

"That's mean" she frowned looking at him, Josh's laughs stopped, "but i'll totally do it" he smiled again, watching her set the time.

"If the ghosts don't kill us, he will"
