Dr. Ivo Robotnik, the infamous evil villain in all of Mobius with an IQ of 300, has finally had enough of that rotten blue hedgehog.
Time and time again, the speedy little bastard had managed to thwart his plans. When he planned to use his Death Egg to destroy Mobius, Sonic came along just to make the damn thing explode. When he tried to use the Time Stones to alter the timeline, making it to where he ruled Little Planet (A place that he intended to turn into another lair.), Sonic went to the past, getting rid of all of his robot generators and undoing any work of his evil deeds. Hell, he even got all of the Time Stones, making sure that he had no other prospects. And so, he comprehended, maybe his eminent and reliable plan wasn't as great as he thought as it was. Maybe he could improve himself by ditching time travel completely. Then, he had a greater plan. He was going to rebuild the Death Egg, stealing the Master Emerald as a power source. That should show them, that should prove to everyone that he still had some of his villainy charm left in him.
When Sonic managed to get Knuckles, a guy who he had literally beat the life out of, to join his side, and he destroyed his Death Egg once again...
That had been the final straw.
He was sick and tired of Sonic ruining all of his inventions, inventions that he would spend days and weeks trying to build. He was tired of Sonic wrecking his lairs. This was, what, the fourth one that's been annihilated? those took forever to build, and for him to just speed by and mess them up like he was nothing...it made his blood boil.
He hated that hedgehog. He genuinely did. He hated his cheesy catchphrases, he hated his snarky, egocentric attitude, he hated how he would rub his nose in a cocky manner every time he won a battle, and boy did he hate that asshole's grin. And don't even get him started about that nasty, mutated freak that he calls a brother. He was just as horrible and annoying as Sonic, something that he never even knew was possible.
He didn't want to be seen as a joke. He didn't want to be seen as a worthless, no good villain, a villain who couldn't get rid of a damn hedgehog and a fox. Then again...when he really thought about it, he was partly to blame for his current reputation, wasn't he? At the end of the day, no matter how much he wanted to deny it, he was being too soft. Honestly, when Sonic came out victorious after their fights, after every major showdown, what exactly does he do? He just screams, shouts curses, and then calls it quits until another plan comes to mind, never bothering to chase Sonic. And no, speed wasn't a problem. He's had many opportunities to get Sonic when he would least expect it. The night would be a perfect time! Sonic was a very deep sleeper, he had heard.
One day, he took that chance, and what did he do?
He snuck into Sonic's house while he was asleep, and swapped his shoes.
He. Swapped. His. Shoes.
Only moments after the labyrinth incident occurred did he realize the other things that he could've done while he was there. He could've busted his kneecaps. He could've broken his leg, his arm, anything that would heavily affect his running ability. He could've killed him, he could've stabbed him to death for crying out loud! But no, he had been completely oblivious to his choices, and because of that, he messed up the only chance he would possibly have to get rid of Sonic. That was a preposterous thought, wasn't it? A full-grown man couldn't get rid of a measly little rodent who was half his size. What an embarrassment.
However, he could already see the cause of this faster than he saw the issue.
He was holding back.
Things suddenly became much more clearer. The cause of all of his failures came from him holding back on Sonic. He always used his robots to fight his battles, and his robots were somewhat fragile, so that's why Sonic always won, that's why he always got away. And in the rare moments when he did capture Sonic, he always used the same, weak glass every single time. Meanwhile, during all of that, he was still a doctor. He was still a scientist. He had thousands of toxic poisons, venoms, and tranquilizers in his old laboratory, the one that Sonic hadn't destroyed. There were plenty of sharp scalpels and knives that he could use ti his advantage. Hell, there might even be some hedgehog quill resistant glass in there as well. So many choices, so many ways that he could kill that hedgehog...but then, why didn't he?
Was it his buried deep consciousness? Whatever. At this point, he no longer cared. A new, sinister plan was now bubbling up in his mind. He was going to go back to his old, forgotten laboratory, because that place was going to have a big play in the plan. He would kidnap Sonic, maybe his little friend too if there were any problems, bring them there, and from there...the probabilities of him getting revenge were endless. For one, he would get Sonic to tell him the whereabouts of the Chaos Emeralds. Maybe he could withhold food if he refused to speak. Or, better yet, he could threaten that 2-tailed fox's life. The more he thought about it, the higher his excitement rose.
It was final. He was going out with this plan, and he was going to do it carefully. He was going to do something that he should've done a long time ago. He was going to get rid of Sonic once and for, all, and he wasn't going to show any mercy.
Now...if he was going to kidnap him, he would obviously be in need for assistance.
He was sure that he could rebuild Metal Sonic in a few hours...but until then...
"Scratch! Grounder! Come here immediately! I have a little mission for you..."
