nini and ashlyn walked into ashlyn's car. ashlyn helped nini got inside the car and she immediately got inside too and started driving to nini's house.

nini didn't realize that she kept smiling for the whole ride. she wondered how did the boy she just met looked like. is he attractive? is he a blonde haired? black? brown? does he have dimples? perfect jawline? beautiful smile? but then she didn't care. all that she thinks about is that how she was nervous around him, butterflies wander around her stomach, and the huge deal that has been on her mind was how she was being complimented by a guy for the first time in sixteen years, even though it's just her name.

ashlyn recognized nini's smile and took a guess on why nini kept smiling.

"so, what spell did ricky gave you to make you smile like that? i haven't seen you smile that big in a while."

"n-nothing." she tried to hid it by facing the window

"mhm, sure nini."

"oh stop it please ash." she whined, not wanting to say anything about what happened at the shop.

"then tell me what it is!" ashlyn begged as she stole glances to nini

"alright, but you promise me not to tease me after this"

"okay okay"

"he compliment me. told me my name's cute. and i may have embarrassed myself by blushing hard and i faced down and i dumbly remembered i'm blind and he definitely saw my cheeks burning red. and then he wondered why i was that embarrassed then i admitted that i've never been complimented, both face and looks and he told me i lied but i quickly told him no." she rambled off embarrassedly

ashlyn's jaw dropped. "oh. my. god. i am so telling aunt nat and uncle jamie!!!" ashlyn squealed

"no please. i don't want another people tease me about this. this isn't a big deal anyways." nini buried her face

"but neens, they're you're parents! they should know."

"oh stop it please. this isn't a big deal. it's not like i got accepted to harvard."

"but neens, not even a single guy, except uncle jamie of course, has ever compliment you. i know it's just your name but you know i can see that he's interested in you."

"oh my god, you're annoying. i'm gonna ignore you for the rest of the ride."

"whatever you say neens, because we're already in your driveway anyways." ashlyn laughed as nini shook her head, chuckling.

nini and ashlyn walked inside nini's house, which was possibly the biggest house in the city, also known as the caswell residence.

here's a backstory about nini. nini salazar-roberts. blind girl who got lucky, that's what the people in town called her. nini was adopted by jamie and natalie caswell when she was twelve, few months after she cannot see the beautiful world around her. jamie and natalie loved her as much as they loved their only son, ej caswell. they knew nini from the "accident" and knowing that she had no one left, they thought about adopting her. the reason being was natalie had been wanting to have a daughter two years after ej was born, but her hopes didn't came into reality because she had miscarriage when she was six months pregnant, so knowing that she can adopt nini, she was so happy and promised to herself she will take care of nini and loved her as much as she loved her son.

when nini knew she was being adopted, she was scared enough to know her soon to be family. she was even more scared when she finally knew who will adopt her.

the caswells.

the caswell's known as the richest family in town, but they always try to kept it lowkey because they didn't like that much of attention. but then again, they cannot hide from it, knowing their popularity and wealth. jamie is a successful businessman who basically travels, a lot. so he rarely stays at home. natalie owns her own clothing line. she also rarely stays at home but ever since nini came to the family, she manages to do both. housewife and a fashion designer. she also tries her best to stay at home more. then came in ej caswell, used to be an only child. ej is a popular senior at his school, also known as the captain of the football team. sure, the typical guy who can get any girl he wants, but his eyes only landed on gina porter, nini's best friend, who really hate him to guts because of how he treated nini badly. gina worships her so much she doesn't want anyone to hurt nini.
