nineteen - now or never

the next morning the caswell siblings was woken up by nancy who was going to help nini get ready for school. nancy saw how the two were still really asleep so nancy gave them about ten minutes to get up from the bed.

"morning." ej said groggily and kissed nini's head

she groaned lightly, "sometimes i hate school."

ej chuckled, "you and me both sis."

"hey i almost forgot to tell you, ricky invited me to his place after school." ej told her

"oh, alright. i'll just ask ashlyn for a ride then." she said while rubbing her eyes

"no, that's okay. i still have to go home first."

"alright."

time quickly passed by and the siblings were currently on their way to school. it was the first time ej gave nini a ride to school and to say the siblings were nervous was an understatement. this will be the first time they interact and get along at school.

"will people notice us?" she asked

"i bet." ej mumbled and glanced at nini who was fidgeting on her seat. he touched her knees to calm her down, "don't worry, i'll try distract you. i'm the one who will see their reaction though, you're perfectly fine."

nini chuckled, "alright."

meanwhile at east high, the group was currently gathered at ashlyn's locker. ricky approached them and saw everyone but nini.

"where's nini?" ricky asked, "you didn't give her a ride today ash?"

"nini got a ride already." ashlyn answered

"from who?"

"you know..." she trailed off and sent ricky a smirk. ricky was confused for awhile but after realizing who ashlyn meant, ricky gave back a smirk to her

"you knew about them?" ricky whispered in ashlyn's ear. she just nodded in response

"this should be fun." ashlyn stated

before ricky could say something, the group saw carlos' eyes widened

"guys, you might wanna take a look." carlos said while pointing at his view

and there they were, the caswell siblings. they were at nini's locker and ej helped her with everything. the group's jaws dropped while ricky and ashlyn watched the sibling in amusement.

big red rubbed his eyes for three times to make sure what he saw was real, "are they...."

"no way...."

"is this a dream?"

"should i be scared?"

"wow..."

"i did not expect that."

ricky and ashlyn bursted out into laughter, "come on guys." ricky told the group to approach the siblings. ricky and ashlyn walked in front of them while the rest of the group followed the two behind them.

"hey you two!" ricky greeted them while giving ej a bro hug

"hey guys!" ej greeted everyone while wrapping his arms around nini's shoulders, "your friends are here, nini."

"oh, hi!" she greeted excitedly

"can someone tell me what the hell is going on?" carlos suddenly barged in

"oh carlos." ashlyn pat his cheek, "it will be a long story."

ej looked at the time on his watch, "shit, i better go now." he turned to nini, "i'll see you after school, okay? i'll wait in front of your class."
