it was a thursday night and nini was working on her group homework with kourtney, gina, and ashlyn. until this time, ashlyn is still the one who knew about their date. previous monday after ricky told ashlyn about the date, ashlyn couldn't stop asking nini about it so she gave in and told her everything. she was happy that someone finally sees how amazing and beautiful person nini is. ashlyn is the type of person who is good at keeping secrets so it was easy enough for her to hide the excitement, but nini is another story. after their confessions, nini couldn't stop smiling and all in her mind was ricky, her feelings towards him, how he loves her, and their first official date, which made kourtney and gina confused.

"alright, nini. all of us are tired of this confusion. what made you smile since monday?" kourtney interrogated her

nini widened her eyes and then ashlyn saved her, "uh, nini's getting a good progress on her therapy!"

yes, ashlyn is good at keeping secrets, but she's awful at lying.

nini could feel that kourtney and gina didn't buy ashlyn's reasons and they all knew ashlyn's bad at lying so she finally gave in.

"it's alright ash, i'll tell them." she sighed and told them the full story. when nini finished the story, the room fell silent and she was nervous about their reaction.

"guys? say something?" she pleaded

"nini, they cannot say a word because they're speechless." ashlyn laughed

"oh, um. it's okay. no big deal. let's just continue our homework, it's almost done."

"no big deal?!" gina exclaimed, "dear god, finally ricky made a move!" she squealed

"girl, let us handle your outfit again, alright? we'll make sure ricky's in love with you even more. god, i'm so happy for you!" kourtney exclaimed

nini laughed at her response, "that means a lot, kourt. thank you."

"now you, missy, don't try to feel sad anymore okay! your first crush is in LOVE with you." gina pointed out, "but how about you? do you love him?"

"all i know is that i like him, maybe i do love him, but i'm not there yet." she admitted shyly

"i'm so happy for you oh my god!" ashlyn squealed

"me too. i hope this feeling stays like this forever." nini beamed and the girls looked at her in awe. they were happy someone could finally make nini realize that she's worth enough to fight for and they hoped ricky doesn't mess up.

the next day, school was just the usual, but ashlyn had a meeting with her renaissance club so ricky gladly offered to gave nini a ride home. thankfully he drove instead of skate to school that day.

they were walking to ricky's car and they talked about everything. ricky made jokes and somehow nini was entertained, even though some of the jokes were dry enough.

"hey, i know i'm the one who said to keep it lowkey but you know kourt and gina, and i ended up telling them about us." nini said to him, her tone filled with guilt

"hey, it's cool. carlos and seb actually confronted me a few days ago and i gave in, but i told them not to tell anyone. so i guess we're both even." he chuckled

"let's just keep it lowkey to other people but our close friends and family." she offered and he nodded lightly

soon enough the pair were inside ricky's car and he started to drive to the caswells. ricky offered if nini wants to request a song and she told him to play taylor swift's album lover on shuffle. ricky realized that nini always requested taylor swift on his car and he guessed that she's her favorite singer.
