【Y/n】

"Deary, Bernard is here!" My mother calls me down. It's my 5th birthday today! My skin turns from a happy yellow to an excited orange. I'm currently in my bedroom playing with Lunar, a puppy I got on my birthday last year. I fix up my tiara and dress as I race down the stairs and to the main hall with excitement and anticipation, leaving him behind. The halls of our castle are so huge that it takes a tiny girl like me a little while to get there.

Once I get to the entrance, I see a small boy around my age with Bernard, our trusted family friend. "Happy birthday Y/n! I brought you a gift! This nice red collar for Lunar... and a friend!" He hands me the collar and motions down to the boy with odd light grey skin, blue eyes, and white hair. What? "Who's this?" My mother asks. Bernard kneels down at me and my mother in a bow.

"Your Royal Highness, your Majesty, this is Jack Frost, I call him Jack for short. He's a kid I met on the road when I got here." He goes back up to pat Jack's head, but Jack dodges him instead. "We didn't meet, you dragged me here old man!" Both my mother and I look at Bernard in confusion. "Ah, haha, That's not what happened.. This guy was hurting kids so I decided to stop him and bring him here."

My mother looks over to Jack with a questionable look on her face. "I-I-I just wanted kids to play with! Then my powers..."

"Powers?" My mother then looks back at Bernard. "This kid, he seems to have had special powers since he was young and can't control them well."

As my mother and Bernard talk more, I glance at Jack shyly while my skin color turns green, getting nervous. I haven't been able to play with kids my age for a while now, I wonder how he sees me? He looks back at me, when our eyes meet I jump and run behind mother to hide my face. Bernard tells Jack, "This is Princess Y/n, she is the daughter to this beautiful Queen right here."

"Oh, stop it now, Bernard," My mother says to him. "I thought Y/n would like a friend to play with. It seems that she only spends time with Lunar now." He reaches over patting my head, messing up my hair.

"Yes, well, that does sound like a good idea..." My mother's head tilts down, looking at me. "Y/n, how about you and Jack go upstairs while Bernard and I have a little talk." As she says with a smile, I instantly lead Jack to my room, feeling anxious. "This way." I still can't understand him that well. What does he think of me?

【3rd Person POV】

Bernard and the Queen wait for Jack and Y/n to go upstairs. Then she turns back to him. Bernard starts, "She's a shy one these days, huh?" He says, as he stares at the stairs. "Yes, when that horrible rumor spread around it was hard for us, and ever since the King died she doesn't seem to want to be around kids at all. She's always by herself nowadays stuck up in her room..." The Queen sighs letting her face fall.

"Well, I do hope Jack and Y/n can be good friends." The Queen holds her cheek. "I hope so, too. I just want her to be happy, to be accepted here." Bernard goes over to grab her hand again. "Yes, she is the next heir to the throne after all." The Queen smiles lightly, her eyes showing nothing but emptiness as he kisses her hand. "Promise me... If we do the wedding... Look after her, I hope you know that all of this is for her." Bernard shows no expression as he looks at her. But on the inside he feels his heart shatter. The only way... He thinks. "Of course," Not changing his tone.

【Jack Frost】

This girl or should I say Y/n is bringing me into her bedroom. Why am I being dragged all over the place like this today!? All I was trying to do is play with some kids, it's not my fault they got hurt. My eyes start to water but when I touch my eyes it only turns into frost. Why would anyone leave me like this without an explanation? Who were the monsters that brought me into this world and couldn't take care of me? And why does this girl with weird skin have to show me her room? I want to leave, but strangely, I also don't want to. "Here Lunar." I see her put the collar on her little black hair and blue eyed puppy. Why is she treating me so normally?
