I'm hoping the fact that I took her and her car will make this little excursion less suspicious. Truth is I really didn't want to pay for an Uber just so I could kill the driver after the fact. Everyone seems to know everyone in this stupid town and I didn't need people knowing I'm the one who kidnapped Elena Gilbert so early in the day. There's work to be done first.
I can hear slight movement in the trunk, she must be awake. This is gonna make things just a bit more difficult. I could always shoot her up with more vervain, but that'll last too long. I need answers, now.
I pulled into the long, dirt driveway of the Gilbert Lake-house, and parked the car near the back entrance. Opening the trunk I realize I probably should have gagged her.
"What the hell do you think you're doing?" She seethes, fangs and veins a'blazing. I roll my eyes and drag her out of the small compartment. Her bindings should allow her to at least walk, they're only lightly covered in vervain for that exact purpose. Still she struggles a bit as I lead her inside, pull out a dining chair and sit her down.
"You and your friends lied to me, I just wanted to give you an opportunity to fix that." I state calmly. She does her best to remain impassive, but shifts her weight a bit in her chair. She's obviously uncomfortable. "Sorry, did you want out of those?" She squints at me as I get up to cut her free, but remains sitting. She must understand.
"I don't know what you're referring to."
"Really? So you don't know why Klaus Mikaelson has your phone number?" Her eyes widen a bit.
"What are you talking about?"
"He called while you and your lap dogs were out doing god knows what. I told him you were unavailable. He said to leave a message." She freezes.
"That being?" I waved my hand dismissively.
"Something about a missing piece. He wanted Bonnie to meet with him in New Orleans to investigate, given it was her spell, but she, of course, hasn't been answering her phone. So I told him he should just come here and retrieve what he needs himself." She's done hiding her fear now that she sees what I'm getting at.
"You told him?!" She yells frantically.
"Told him what? That you've been secretly harboring his little rock the entire time? No, of course not. That wouldn't have brought him how I need him. I merely told him Bonnie was in trouble." Now she looks horrified.
"But she's dead, what happens when he gets here and Bonnie's nowhere to be found?"
"He finds her anyway."
"That's not funny. Do you realize how important she was to all of us?"
"Oh sure, I liked her too, which is why when Klaus gets here, she'll be waiting." I've lost her.
"How?!" And right on cue, the floorboards of the hallway just behind Elena start to creak.
"Because Bonnie's not dead." The little witch walks past her best friend and takes her place beside me.
"I'm right here, Elena."
