"I- I don't understand, how is this possible?" The young vamp stammered, walking towards Bonnie with slight caution. She lifts her hand to Bonnie's cheek, making the little witch smile and cover Gilbert's hand with her own.

"Ask Cassie, she's the one who brought me back." Elena turns her shocked gaze to me. I roll my eyes. How are they still so surprised by the things I can do?

"Nephilim." Was all I said. Her brow furrowed, obviously not fully grasping the extent of my powers. Even though I've explained it to them about a hundred times. I suppose in a world where angels don't exist, the concept of a half arch-angel, half witch hybrid is a complicated one. Apparently even for a bunch of vampires. That's one thing I never understood about any supernatural world, though, is how is every supernatural being somehow so surprised by the existence of other unique supernatural beings? I mean really, you'd think someone so out-of-the-ordinary would have a bit more imagination.

"Well, are you okay? Did she hurt you?" Elena asks in a slightly hushed tone. I can't lie, I'm a little insulted.

"Why would I hurt her? You know, just because I don't like you doesn't mean I'm a monster to everyone else. Believe it or not, I can be considerably kind. Besides, I protect my investments." I sneer back at her. Though that last sentence may have been a mistake as Bonnie turns to face me, a tinge of annoyance playing her features.

"Investments? I offered to help you. You invested nothing, you haven't even thanked me."

"I brought you back to life, didn't I?" The little witch rolled her eyes, but I could sense the underlying gratitude. I hoped she did as well. After all, there was a time she was my friend. I hoped my mission didn't ruin that completely. Secretly, she was my favorite.

"Why did you bring her back to life, anyway? What's in it for you?" Still with the condescending tone, Elena. This is why nobody likes you.

"A, out of everyone in your little group, she's the most helpful. B, she's also the most honorable. And c, like I said, Klaus needs her. And I need Klaus."

"Then why don't you just take her to New Orleans like he wanted?"

"Because he doesn't know me."

"So?"

"So, from what I've heard Klaus isn't one to just give things. He's got some sort of selective hearing, he only listens if it directly benefits him. Am I wrong?"

"Well, no," she agrees. "But what's your point?"

"My point is if I were to go to his city withholding his witch without any apparent reason? He'd probably kill me. I need to draw him out, get him to lower his guard enough to actually listen to me. And more importantly, I need him to owe me."

"You do realize Klaus is like, the most paranoid person on earth right? He doesn't even trust his family, much less some stranger from another world." Bonnie pipes in.

"I won't be some stranger from another world, I'll be the lonely witch trying to save her long lost cousin- or something, haven't completely worked out the kinks. Bottom line, I'll be helping him with what he needs."

"And for that, he'll owe you." I click my tongue.

   "Correct-o-mundo, little witch."

"Wait, save Bonnie from what?" Elena questions.

   "Hm?" I raise my eyebrows.

"You keep saying your going to help him retrieve Bonnie, what will you be retrieving her from?"

"Well, like I said, still working out the kinks, but so far the best I can come up with is tricking somebody into kidnapping her. Maybe even someone Klaus knows, just to make things a bit more personal." The vamp's eyes widened.

"No. No, we just got her back, you are not sending her off into some trap!"

"No, I just gave her back, and I will do as I please. Besides, if Bonnie wasn't comfortable with the plan then we wouldn't be doing it. Nothing is set in stone yet."

"Okay, but what do you even need Klaus for?" Elena questioned. I'm starting to think my original assessment of her and Klaus being "old pals" may have been incorrect, she talks about him like some sort of last resort or something. I suppose he did sound rather demanding in the phone, maybe they just find him annoying.

"That's for me to know and you to figure out."
